Recently my Mojave has been riding super rough and loud with a decent vibration on the road. Took it to the shop to get rotated and balanced and it was all good there but noticed the tires have some pretty decent cupping. Looking it up, it seems like that’s a suspension issue. More specifically, worn out shocks. I only have 30k on the car total. Mostly highway miles. Off road occasionally but nothing drastic.
has anybody else experienced this already?

Not on my JT, I have Rubicon shocks with ~40k, and no noticeable loss in performance.

On the 2017 GMC Canyon I had, the factory shocks only lasted 24k before needing replacement.

All four are shot? I’ve only blown a few shocks in my life and I had to work at it.

JT Overland ordered May '19, delivered to me July '19. Currently around 27,000 miles, mostly highway and grocery getter but, I also tow an ~5,200 lb (with all we want or need) travel trailer, 27', with appropriate WDH and electronic brakes.

Zero shock issues so far.

I still think that all the issues people are experiencing with those models built in mid-late '20 to early '22 are a direct result of not enough people conducting quality control because of COVID. Just not enough people available to perform those tasks and a lot of shoddy things made it into production.

remove a shock and test it. if you can compress and extend it easily by hand it's shot. is their leaking oil?

Take it to the dealer let them check it out if under warranty
Unfortunately it seems that dealers have no actual ability to test shocks.

They will look for a leak, not find one, test drive it and then put "Could Not Duplicate" on the RO.

Yep, had 3 fully blown on my Rubicon. Visible oil leak one one of them. 20k miles, nothing too crazy. Not exactly impressed

Mileage will likely vary from dealer to dealer. Some may take a test drive and use the cupping of the tire as proof for parts, but agreed, many will not do a thing without it being straight out burst. I had a small leak they called a seep they wouldn't be allowed to touch by Mopar until it was a full blown leak that was staining their driveway.

my front shocks are like this but dealer hasn't done anything. They have had it twice. Tires are cupping ion the front. You can even hear the pressure discharge like my mountain bike shocks.

Does the truck bounce once and stay planted or give a bit of boing boing boing after a good bump? If getting nowhere with the dealer unbolt the lower mount and check yourself, take a video if they can be compressed by hand with little pressure. If still good these shocks will take some good effort to compress and bolt back on at ride height. How much sweating are you seeing at the seals?

Had my rears on my 21 Mojave replaced, they were both leaking, dealer asked no questions and said something about a bad batch of seals on the rear fox 2.5 on the Mojave’s. Maybe look into that?

How often do you rotate your tires? Cupping is an issue if tires are not rotated frequently regardless of shocks. 5k rotation seems work pretty well from my experience.

I'm not impressed with the Rubicon shocks anyway, leaking or not. Look cool, but looks don't mean stable.
