I've had my Mojave for three years now and still love it but, I don't pamper and tinker with it like I used to. In fact, can't tell you when I washed it last. So, this morning, after feeling a bit guilty for how dirty it was, I washed it up really nicely and vacuumed it out. Gotta say, it looks pretty good.

I'm curious to hear from y'all who have had yours for some time now, how often do you wash and clean it up, now that "the new has worn off?"

I bought my 2020 JTR somewhere around March 2020. Here she is with her sisters.

I'm retired and get out with it a lot but as far as washing it goes; I usually only wash it when I have to remove a LOT of mud. In fact, I can gauge how good of a time I had by how much it costs me at the self-service car wash to get it clean again...LOL

I usually keep my interior really clean but neglect the exterior some. Which reminds me I need to touch up some spots on the hood and painted fenders. I bought some body color touch up paint especially for the hood so I can negate oxidation somewhat in the winter.

I generally see my vehicles as somewhat of an investment and try to keep them nice and maintained in the event I ever sell or trade in, the vehicle is worth more.

My neighbours used to joke that I was going to wash the paint off my vehicles now it is the trees that are removing my paint! I still wash in and out at least every 2nd week!

The Rubicon and Mojave get washed weekly as I am retired and don’t have and excuse other than rain. And it will not rain until November. But fog and tree pollen does a number on them!

When I purchased the 2023 Mojave with a soft top, I was worried about the neighbor’s pine tree dropping sap or pine cones. It was an ugly dirty tree that really lifted the sidewalk. I asked if I could remove it. Well 1 turned into 3 trees, 4 junipers, and a cactus garden. The yard was badly overgrown and an eyesore. So yes, I pamper them! And it felt good to help an elderly neighbor and veteran.

The 21 JTRD was washed this morning prior to heading to the beach. Sun is trying to come out!

I wash and clean the outside and interior every two weeks. Then it gets a good spray wax put on it. Getting her ready for surf fishing I had at least 3 coats of wax on the body. Every time I come back from fishing the beach, she gets a undercarrage spray down.

I try to wash it every week, except for when the weather is going to be bad here in Houston. Also clay bar and apply Griots 3 in 1 ceramic once a year. Still looks pretty good for being almost 4 years old.

I need to do better. ā€œBethā€ gets washed about once a quarter (interior too) or right away if she gets muddy. She gets waxed twice a year. The one thing I am good about is regularly wiping down the black composite plastic pieces with a sun protectant solution….fender flares, hood latches, mirrors, etc. I see older jeeps out there with faded black plastic and it looks terrible. Vowed not to be a victim to that sun damage.

I drove the first one over four years. I kept the trash cleaned out, but never vacuumed it once. It got washed a few times when new, but then I just relied on the rain. It's been four months with the second one. It's been through the no-touch car wash twice, and is splattered in front with bugs from the last trip.

Love the Gobi color. Wish it wasn't discontinued in '21.

My Gladiator gets washed as needed, but not more than once a week. When I do wash it, it is at the local drive through car wash. One thing I am really enjoying on this Jeep is not feeling like it needs to be detailed inside and out every three or four days.

3 years in…

I always keep the seats, steering wheel, other touch points very clean. The floor, not so much at all. I pride myself on keeping that ā€œnew carā€ steering wheel look and feel. I hate a worn looking steering wheel. One of my weird tendencies I suppose.

The exterior gets like 4 washes outside of winter/salt season. It’s a truck, a jeep truck at that…it ain’t supposed to look all that pretty.
