I feel for you. the worst is when you buy it they have a ton of ads about trip continuation guarantee and are rated highly on reliability... I have no idea how jeep has high reliability ratings as every jeep owner smiles knowingly everytime they talk about them breaking.
I wish I could do something for you, and I think you posting here is the best help anyone can get because jeep does monitor the forums. If enough people lose their trips jeep will improve coverage or people will know not to buy one.

Very few jeep breakdowns that I've seen are I can't get home kind of break downs though. They're usually dinged on ancillary systems, not the actual power trains which are usually fairly bullet proof as far as at least getting you home (other than the diesel which due to regulations has to basically just turn itself in to a potato for anything)

That really blows. Sorry to hear that. Exactly why I stayed away from the diesel as well. I am content with my gas. Besides, it's all that was available on my Mojave.

Posting here has been very therapeutic so thank you everyone for putting up with my rant. I guess Covid put most manufacturers in very difficult positions. My wife secured a rental car through Costco so she is safe. The rental car company requires that it be returned to Butte but they will allow her to extend it as much as she likes.
This forum is great as people actually offer ideas. Jeep must be bound by corporate speak I’m sure, so all you get out of them is shrugging shoulders and acknowledgment that the problems exist. It was the same with trying to locate oil filters and fuel filters which they were never able to do. Thanks to the forum, I do have a supply of Chinese knock offs

The one car I had broke down about 600 miles from. Found out it's cheaper and easier to rent a U-Haul truck to get home than a rental car sometimes.

Sounds like the wiring issues next to exhaust on the right side. The wiring harness rubs through on a flange and causes shit to happen. There is a TBS on it.

I’d tow it to the dealer and trade it for a 3.6. Sure the pentastar isn’t the best at anything but it’s proven to be pretty reliable. It was hard decision for me but I kept reading stories similar to this. Hope your luck improves.

I get what you’re saying. I have a Pentastar with a six speed in a soft top JL. With the altitude and mountains in Utah it won’t even pull a pop up camper. We also have a JLU Rubicon with a 2.0 turbo E Torque. It’s better but still totally inadequate. The Ecodiesel is perfect when it runs. I just feel stupid leaving town with it.
This gives me flashbacks to the mid nineties when flush with cash for the first time I bought two matching black Rovers. A D90 and a Range Rover for my wife. (License plates: Wallace & Gromit. : ) They were so ridiculously unreliable that I quit leaving town without the escort of my trusty Toyota 4X4 pickup with over a hundred thousand miles. The service shop was wonderful and with speed dial to personal mechanics, they would even make house calls. Then I had an epiphany: Why am I on a first name basis with the service department??

I'm 30K miles in and not a single issue with ours. We do not daily drive it much. Mostly tow an RV on trips and appro 7500 miles of off road trail use? If Jeep announced 2023 was the last year to buy a JT Eco, I'd order another and store it till this one is out of nearly warranty (125K).

Me too. Actually there’s no other vehicle out there I would rather own. I love the size, the ride, the ease to park, the turning radius, even the “Man Bun” soft top. All I want is to not risk animal safety or a financial catastrophe any time I leave town. I had much higher hopes for the warranty. Oh. And please build a new factory to produce oil filters. Actually produce them!

i have over free 10,000 trouble free miles on mine. Did one cross country trip and a bunch of shorter trips with it. I feel your pain. Had one car that was a major pita from the get go. It didn't last long.

I have owned more VAG cars than any other….. I haven’t had any serious issues with any of them.
If I were you I would look up the ones I posted- I don’t think you will find many “issues”….
