Yikes
Looks like the wheel failed when he hit the concrete bottom of the light pole and then all the other damage occurred.

10 mph or 10 inches. What difference does it make. ?

Oh hell ….this looks to be an AZ driver. ??

So this happened at this address: 6750 W Thunderbird Rd, Peoria, AZ 85381

Based on street view the nearest entrance that could have been used was almost 100ft from the point of impact leading me to assume the story was leaving some information out. I find it hard to believe they turned left and couldn’t see for over 100 feet before impacting the curb/light pole.

Slow day at work and cruising the interwebs and found this gem on a Nissan Frontier forum were a guy with the new Gen 3 Frontier Pro4X jumped a parking lot curb at 10 MPH and totaled his Frontier. Insurance totaled it because of frame and firewall damage. Surprised at the amount of damage for something as simple as a parking lot curb on their so called off road model.

Looking around at other threads over there on the new Gen 3 Frontier and it seems to be a total dumpster fire of quality issues.

Yea I'm not buying he rolled a curb at 10 MPH and broke the whole passenger front end off and stuffed it in the fire wall.

But like others I AM buying that he plowed over the curb and tried to run over a concrete light pole base at a decent clip. The curb didn't scuff the bumper that high off the ground.

I am impressed by the crowd source sleuthing on this.

For the record, I did not totally buy into the 10 MPH claim either. Just did not care to break it down like others have here.

@FitfulGoat unless I am wrong, he was coming the other way. The way you have it drawn he would have hit drivers side. For there to be no cars parked there, I bet he hit it the night before went home and sobered up them called insurance the next morning.

In the photos of the truck it looks like the passenger side with the “foot solutions” and “shear reflections” behind. He also stated he was driving East in the parking lot which would lead me to believe he turned right off of Thunderbird.

10MPH? I am not sure about that but if that IS the case...holy shit
I wonder about that as well - speed only 10? And the BAL was how much? What was the point of driving like that in a parking lot anyway.
If the truck broke that easily, yikes. However, the driver wasn't exactly swift himself. Likely showing off a bit and well, that often gets you what you may deserve.

I thought the same as well, I wish we had some pictures front on or from the rear to see the trucks angle relative to the pole, that would be telling.
Look at the reflection on the side of the truck - right close to that pole base, I'd say.
And look at the paint on the bumper - meh, the driver was an idiot. That's the real issue. Not the truck.
