I know you just made the upgrade, With the increase size and weight, have you seen a drop in mileage. That’s my biggest concern with an lt tire is the weight
I haven’t had a chance to notice yet but I’ll let you know when I do.

Man that’s a beautiful dog!
He’s something else, 110Lb, European Doberman, most intelligent dog I’ve ever owned, can’t take credit for the training, that’s courtesy of the military.

The LTB's were 34x10.5, they ran short and were substantially wider than the "Special Service" 34x9 which ran about 35" tall and were ridiculously skinny with the deepest tread this side of tractor tires. The LTB's worked well, but the Special Service Swampers were the magical ones. Bigger 4x4s could get away with fitting the 38.5x11 Boggers, but none of these bias ply tires were any good on-road. It's a shame that the BroDozer market drove all the tire manufacturers to go so wide with their offerings.

I had the 38x11.5 Boggers on my TJ. I hand grooved them to get some lateral grip and wow, those things were magic!

Re skinnies in modern radials. I've had really good luck with the 35x11.5 Toyo ATIIIs (load c). But these Baja Bosses look good too.

No you don't. SSR == SuperSucky Radial. :)
I ran many sets of the SSRs in the past in a variety of sizes on a variety of vehicles, and I found that they really worked well in all types of terrain. Everything from 31x10.5 to 37x12.5. I never cut a tire, I never had any uneven wear, and I got good tread life out of them. They consistently impressed me, which is why I bought 6 sets of these SSRs for 4 different vehicles.

The 35x14.50R15's I ran under one of my Samurais were simply magical in the snow, making that lightweight 4x4 float on top of the snow when aired down to 2psi and be every bit as capable as our long-track snowmobile was. If we started burying the snowmobile, we knew to wait a day or two before taking the Samurai out, and if we were out with the Samurai and burying it, we knew to wait a day or two before taking the snowmobile out. The downside to such big, heavy, wide tires under such a lightweight vehicle was that we could definitely feel the weight on the street, but the more "normal" sizes on my other vehicles behaved no differently than with other brands' same size tires.

I would have no hesitation running SSRs under my Gladiator except for the fact that Interco's prices have gotten completely out of hand. I'm currently running 37x12.50R17 Yokohama Geolandar MT G003's and I'm looking forward to seeing how they do in the snow. I just wish they were available as a 37x11R17.

Hope you like noise. As they wear down, they get noisy. Had a set years ago. Great off road and deep snow. Little iffy on light snow and ice. I'm looking at a set of IROK's.
Not been my experience, i have worn thru a set of 37 x 12.5's and currently running 38 x 15.50 's on my yj . I have been driving it for 32 years , multiple drivetrains , 2nd frame and body tub , 2 x 4.2 ltr engines and 5 x5.7 chevys . Had more sets of tires on it than i can remember and came across the SSr's by accident the first time . impressively quiet for such an aggressive tire , run smooth and wear fair for being a swamper . In addition everyone i have met that was actually running them on a rig had near same experience , fact is ,there is not many out there because of the cost and limited market exposure , but they are a great tire if you need more than an all terrain and less than a bogger .

Mine were noisy at highway speed. Ran a 38" Gumbo Mudder and a 38" SS on my '76 3/4 ton Chevy. Had 35" SS on my '99 Ram. Looking at the 35" or 37" IROKs for the JT. Where I'm at, a lot of guys run SS's because they are easy to get here. National Tire & Wheel is about 70 minutes away. And they always have a good stock on hand.

Anyone use theirs off road yet?
I've wheeled mine pretty hard on my JKR in all types of conditions - smooth rocks, sharp rocks, hard pack, loose pack, dry, wet, etc. - basically everything except deep sticky mud. I'm very impressed with them.

My only issue is that I have spun the tires on the wheels a few times. I suggest marking the tires relative to the valve stem to see if they spin. I'm not sure if this is due to the bead design or the fact that copious amounts of paste tire lube was used when they were mounted. I un-seated the beads and cleaned out all the tire lube. The first time I used denatured alcohol as a cleaner, but my 2 rears slipped slightly again after some aggressive off roading. The second time I used brake parts cleaner and made sure to get everything really clean. Scared the cr@p out of me when I re-seated the beads - it was quite a 'bang' - so loud my wife came down to the garage to make sure I was OK. Hopefully no more spinning.

Noted. I'll definitely mark them and see if there is movement. Thanks for relating your experience with them.

255/85r17 Baja Boss ATs mounted, with a side by side comparison to the stock Wildpeak ATs (mind you the Wildpeaks are under load with approximately 10k Kms)
I'm very happy with how these turned out looks wise, and so far the steering feels lighter. I'll be getting the transmission/speedometer calibrated on Monday. Looking forward to taking it offroad..
