Im running out the door at work and had a thought,

https://www.moparsupply.com/oem-parts/mopar-trailer-brake-controller-82215652ad

I remember reading somewhere that there are different controllers and there is one that works on 2020s and one that doesnt.

The linked one says it will work but I cant remember what part # I should be looking for.

Sorry if this is earlier in this thread, but can someone confirm that the linked one is the correct part for a 2020 model?

Thanks in advance

Looks like the part numbers have changed 3 times so each time they changed something or just updated the part number to the latest year. That is the one I fitted on my 2021 and works great. You should have no problem fitting this to the 2020 .

Year doesn't matter because it's basically just a third party made part, made FOR MOPAR with the MOPAR part number and the look of integration with the dash - but - functionally, it's the same as the single mode Redarc and others.
Since it doesn't integrate with any electronics, there's no reason the controller itself can't work on any year.
When I traded in my 2020 for my 2022 - I removed the MOPAR trailer brake controller from my 2020, it is now installed in my 2022 and works exactly the same, and the fit was the same. It plugged into the same harness connector, into the same hole where I took the 12v outlet out of, and bolts to the same location at the left kick panel area.
In short - there's no functional or physical difference in how they connect and the 2020s appear to be the exact same as the 2022s where the brake controller parts fit.
One reason for a part number change MAY BE the change in the really whacky instructions they came with originally. Change the instructions you have to change the "package" part number.
Could be they actually changed how the box mounted to the mounting plate - to make it match the picture in the instructions, who knows.
If they change the length of a cable by 20cm they must change the part number.

I have an invertor that I use to charge my kids tablets on long pulls with the camper. It only runs from the 12v plug. I had, at one point, planned to use an aux slot to attach a 12v plug but never got around to even attempting it.
If you got the Aux switches at the factory then you don’t have to waste a switch on the charger. Under the dash will Be a wiring bundle that’s a duplicate of the 4 underhood Aux switch wires, as well as a hot and ignition 12V wire. You can use those for accessories, I have mine powering my GMRS radio.

Even easier - make an extension and use the existing 12v outlet cable to power a 12v outlet. Gee, novel ideal - use a harness intended to power a 12v outlet to - gasp - power a 12v outlet!

I couldn't find the inside wires for my aux switches or I might have used the ACC power lead for my plow control, but since I had extended the 12v outlet wires over and that harness has a fused ACC lead coming from the 12v outlet circuit, I tapped into that for my snow plow control power.
I took the standard harness from Amazon that is intended only to give you accessory power from your 12v outlet, it's made to add a "power tap" - I extended it and turned it into a 12v outlet harness extension.

Still have not actually mounted the 12v outlet yet - can't find a good spot for it that looks decent and won't be in the way of a passenger, but I'll keep thinking on it.
For now, it's just sort of stuck here................ (open to ideas)

That's a really great job on that, but I wouldn't say it's easier than using the Aux power wire under the dash for what I was doing. My GMRS radio had a bare wire, plus I found the bundle pretty easy, and had wire connected in 5 minutes tops. I wouldn't mind relocating my 12V port to the dash sometime to have it, but I honestly haven't missed it in 3 years of having a brake controller in the spot for it, so it's not high up my priority list.

I used it on the Florida trip in conjunction with a 12v USB charger adapter that plugged into it and gave super-fast charging for my wife's new phone. Normal "fast chargers" just didn't cut it.

Red wire from snow plow harness - slip into the terminal from the 12v outlet harness - done.
(still didn't find the aux switch wires under there)

Mine were underneath the glove box, closer to the center hump. They were folded over and taped up really well. It looked like a part of the regular harness, took a while to find.

I never looked over in that area. Someone told me a while back "near the right kick panel area along the firewall".
Wouldn't mind finding them - for future reference and for future use.............

They will be behind the RH panel that you remove to unclip the door power and taped up just behind the power plug for the door....

Thanks for the tip - easy enough to look there. Never paid attention when I had that off before.

That's not where they were on my 2020. They were under the dash on the passenger side, close to the firewall. They are taped up pretty good, I had to look around down there to find them.

You need to hurry and post at least one more time somewhere. This isn't looking too good ->

Thanks for the heads up, here's a reply to bump off that number.
