Morning Fellas -

Had a real difficult time getting out of our slopped driveway yesterday after waking up to 2ft of snow.

Specs on the rig: 40x13.5x20 - Maxis Razor A/T - so they should be fine.

Running 34PSI currently. Can lower if suggested.

It is a Rubicon.

I also have the 8 Lug axle conversion with compressor from AMW4x4.

Any thoughts? The day before when I was already driving in the snow it handled great. The dump overnight boxed me in hard. Real embarrassing haha.

Haha. Yeah. 4WD just spun out.

No doubt regarding the shovelling/snowblowing. Just moved into the house and our winter gear was still in the storage locker unfortunately.

Mostly just curious if there is a combination of locker/axle/psi that is ideal. Might air down to 20 and see how that goes.

34 psi is your problem. Drop that to 15 and give that a shot. If you still can’t get out drop to 10.

Just know at 10 you are getting low enough to be cognizant of busting a bead off.

40’s and 34psi seems high…. When the weather clears you should YouTube tire chalk test and figure out your psi. I would think somewhere around 28-30 would be better suited for tire patch contact/wear for regular conditions. - chalk test will dictate.

Definitely air down (Maybe low teens) and lock front and rear. Try 4 low to see if you can crawl on top of the snow. you might have to back up and forward a couple time to create a ramp to get up on the snow.

4wd and both axles locked. Lots of skinny pedal.

I'd want to get out without airing down, if possible, so you're ready to drive on the road once you get out.

Thank you for chiming in. Will check that out.

Trade in that GT500 for a snowblower! Jk. I've found that lower pressure and less skinny pedal helps the most in the deep stuff. Or..... you can always weld that sob to the floor and hang on!
No shit eh? Haha.

Issue with the driveway/house position is how the wind packed it in and where it put it. Photo below is 2 police SUV's getting stuck yesterday. They brought in a tow truck to get them out. Top of the hill the snow was up above my knees just due to how the wind built the drift.

I also have 2+ feet of snow in our driveway. My 2021 JTRD is running BFG 37X12.50R17 KM3 mudders. AT's are great, and actually better, for traction on ice and/or on compact snow vs/ mudders. But, for very deep snow, IMHO, mudders are King!

2 feet of snow?? That sounds terrible. The highs here this weekend are barely hitting 30 and it's about all the news can talk about. Back in the year 2000, we had 23 inches of snow dumped on us in one night. I haven't seen that much collectively in the 23 years past that.
