Throttle body spacer do anything for you?
aside from a small hit of dopamine from enjoying the install i can’t really tell.

I cut my own gasket for my current tbs and it’s whistling today. So pretty sure I either made the gasket a little too large or torqued the bolts out of sequence and made a ripple in it. Ill mess with it later today. I read last night that some folks put a little oil on their cork gaskets to help the seal. So I may gice that a shot as long as papa doesn’t yell at me after reading this. @ShadowsPapa

i put the rough country one I had before in my wifes JLU and it sounds a little better I think when combined with the AFE performance filter.

edit:
I got home from my trip and after putting my mothers camper in the driveway, I immediately dug in to the throttle body spacer. Pulled it out and cut a new gasket, and added just a little bit of oil to it. Reinstalled it and then torque the bolts to 9 pounds, which I read somewhere is the right amount.?‍♂

But while doing them, one of the bolts gets to 3 pounds and just spins… So that’s fantastic since the intake manifold is one giant hunk of plastic and you can’t just replace that piece as far as I’m aware.?‍♂

Took it for a test spin with a few wide-open throttle, and gradual acceleration increases, and only a hint of whistle with a new gasket and bolts tightened to 9 pounds. So maybe I fixed it maybe I didn’t. I suppose time will tell.

I know the diesels sure need one...alot of blow by, actually ends up on the discharge end of the turbo. I have one, but trying to figure out the best place for it....prob somewhere down low on the drivers side frame above the skid plates

Helicoil - fixes stripped threads in aluminum, plastic, steel, brass, whatever. Used a lot of them in alternator repairs when people think if tight is good, tighter must be better.

Special sized drill bit and tap, you put thread locker on the coil and you literally screw in new metal threads. Once done it's stronger than original. Especially in plastic or aluminum.

I use a whole lot of the 5/16" size. When they get an alternator back they can use the stock bolt and not have to worry so much about stripping threads.
A lot of us have used them in old-school aluminum performance intake manifolds where the carburetor mounting studs go. You won't easily strip them out.

Ty for this. I ordered that set I listed. If the whistling comes back and I need to take the throttle body off again ill at least have the stuff to effect a repair without having to just go bigger on the bolt.

update, just over a month after installing the catch can, with roughly 1000 miles. drained the can for the first time.

oil.jpg
and THAT is why i use one on just about everything I own, especially my diesels. The nay sayers can spout, but I dont want that crap back into the engine. My intakes are clean when they werent, none of the engines have any "problems" and run well. My wifes '15 Camaro has the 3.6 and the intake was coated along with the intake valves from burning oil. Would have to put in 1/4 quart a month, since new it did this. Catch can fixed the contamination, and caught the oil.

Half of what's in that cup is oil, the rest is water. It's an emulsion. And once churned into an emulsion it takes forever to separate again so no, it's proven you don't see water sitting at the bottom.
If it looks exactly like the oil in the pan, it's oil. If it looks like a $5 Starbucks drink, it's half or more water.
THAT pic is still a fair amount at only 1,000 miles, but the PCV has been changed since 2020. Mine is clean as it is.

It seems the consensus is it doesnt hurt to add one. But there are 2 sides to the 3.6 do you need to have 2 catch cans?

There is only one PCB. It goes in that line between PCB and intake. No idea what you mean by two sides. Engines have 1 PCV regardless of configuration.

Since you are talking a 2023 model - which should have the revised PCV design, and likely lower miles on the odo, would be interested in seeing the results - literally and in measure xx ounces over yy miles, for example (and what it looks like)
You know the drill - if it looks like an over-priced Starbucks drink, it's mostly water.. if it looks like oil you got out of the pan when changing oil - it's probably all oil.

I want to find a good place to hook a vacuum gauge into mine and watch engine vacuum under varying conditions. So one of these days I'll be snooping around mine more or asking one of the well-versed techs here where a good point is to measure manifold vacuum on these.

And in the intercooler...where it changes the heat transfer rates ;(.

Yeah I will report sometime this week.

For $150, it was hard to not do. Cheap insurance.

I have run them on everything in recent time with good results

I actually ended up purhacing a mishimoto can and did a write up and video on it.
You may have been the one responsible for me purchasing that one. So far, I'm very pleased with it and surprised at how much crap it catches. Thanks for making me poorer.
