wires are now tucked in to the rails and run down front of the canopy. Maybe later i will drill holes for the wires
Same here with my light wiring.

I could not be happier with how this AluCab turned out. It was so nice having dry storage in the snow.

Paid the canopy off. It should be shipping from Asheville Vehicle outfitters tomo. I can’t wait to get it so I can install it!

Finally the day has come to get my cap on, I’m really excited with how it turned out. We’ll be scooting the Ikamper back a bit more, but other than that it worked great. Glad that the platform rack from my cancelled RSI SmartCap order still worked out!
What is the RTT mounted to? The piece between the canopy and RTT? Doesn't look like stock AC load bars. I just bought a used iKamper 2.0 and ordering an AC canopy soon.

i wouldn’t recommend giving your business to the company who makes this platform rack. It is the platform rack left over from my cancelled RSI SmartCap order.

@darkhorse13 Did you get the low profile mounts for your load bars? Did you spray paint them before you put them on?

Yes I did and no, I didn't paint them. I wanted to paint all of the stainless steel from alucab but now I've just grown used to it. The only thing I've painted recently are the awning brackets. If I had the money to powder coat everything that would be the way I go. There's something about all black that I just like better, but the stainless is so good from them and doesn't rust or get cloudy looking

AVO is sending me out new bolts for the bottom brackets b/c the ones that came in the kit were to small from alu cab . Bolts don’t even pass through the nylock.

I noticed mine were the same, not even touching the nylon in the nut. Compared to the instructions on their site, this appears to be a new design with the bolt facing in vs out into a threaded plate. Not sure why the design change, not like it made install any easier/harder.

Yeah I told avo that as well, and said they swapped over to a new hardware and didn’t update the instructions. So they are sending me out longer bolts. The shim part was also confusing to me. So I just put enough in there so there wasn’t any gap between the brackets.

Yeah that section of the instructions were a bit unclear, plus bolting this down in the Cap It parking lot while it was snowing and windy made for an expedited install.

1 of the locks won't turn even a bit, like its the wrong one altogether. Will have a chat about the bolts when I talk to them about a bad lock.

Is it just me, or is opening the latch goofy? sometimes it pops open when I move the slider, other times I gotta push and slide to get it to pop out. I might look into the covers they make, as mine will be jammed with snow and ice most of the year.

I was very close to getting a ARE CX, man I'm glad I got this one instead, it's a perfect blank canvas for outfitting!

Hey everyone,
I know that the Alu-Cab Expedition Canopy has been around for awhile but the Contour Canopy "cap" is new and thought I'd share my set up and hopefully others have some great ideas on organization too :) I think the new look of this canopy matches really well to the new 3R RTT and provides a pretty sleek appearance on the JT. The sliding windows are a nice touch but I kind of rendered them useless with the extra cupboards I installed.

Just to note: the kitchen side cupboard and stove are prototypes and not on the market...yet.

Nice canopy but no glass side windows for me thanks. I went with the RSI Adventure Smart Cap but must admit the the lighter weight of the Alu-cab would be nice.
