I finally got some pictures of my Walmart white trash winch installed. It functions just as it should. I haven't had a chance to connect it to a tree and give it a real test. It has wired and wireless remotes. The fairlead and hooks are Agency 6. It is connected to the battery with Anderson style connectors, which I am leaving disconnected until I need it. For as little as I will use it, I think it will suffice. Haters are going to hate. I don't care. I also don't have lockers or swaybar disconnect. I would have never used those either. Hate away. Winch - $329, 3 year Extended warranty - $65, Rampage winch bumper - $114, Agency 6 fairlead and hooks - $60. Total upgrade from plastic crap bumper - $568. Again, hate away. And no, that isn't a Warn W sticker, it is a white trash W.

If it works it is great! I've had the motor on my WARN fail on me after only 2yrs with very little use. You'll only really know if it is not good for anything when it doesn't work when truly needed!

I love the red "W", plus even better it's a "Max Tow edition", which wil get guys saying you don't have a Max Tow Gladiator but it says it right out front, awesome! Only hate from a Warn winch owner is hang the winch hook on one of the shackles so not to beat your line and bumper, or get one of those rubber covers that let you wind the winch line all the way in. Sorry but haters gotta hate can't help ourselves, setup looks great also!.....Jack

Test before you go, I suppose.

I think letting everyone know you have max tow in every post is the same as the Jeep wave. You gotta do it. How else will they know? I do appreciate some hate though.;)

I'm not positive I love the lights. They are super bright, so I can't drive with them. Well, on the road anyways. They were super cheap also, so I don't mind losing them. They aren't impacting air flow to the radiator, so that isn't a concern. I just don't love the look. Anyone love or hate them?

I've used Agency6 stuff rather extensively in the last 2 years.

9 recoveries (one of my own) later, and their stuff has actually held up better than my Factor55 winch hook did.. (sheered off... to be fair, they replaced it, no questions asked, really)

Currently using their fairlead (also red), their billet winch shackle, and a shackleblock. I have nothing bad to say about their products.

My only critique, is that your line doesn't look wound evenly.. definitely give it a stretch and rewind before you rely on it.

Other than that, no hate here, love the look, and the fact that you're smart enough to cut corners where you can.. these things are expensive enough, out the gate, don't need to spend extra money unless you have to. (Now, if that winch fails you, then I'll stand corrected.. but pretty much everything, now-a-days is hit or miss)

The line defininitely is not wound evenly. I only function tested the winch. As soon as my yard dries out, I am going to run it out and get it corrected. As far as it failing, my use of it is going to be dragging logs and pulling a dead tree over. My offroading will be limited to the Outer Banks. If I need a winch there, I am far dumber than I give myself credit for.

I actually got mine, originally, in case that I'd need it, and not have it..... of course, "I'll never need it" .. right?

;)

Have used it for logs, tree limbs (pull them off lightning struck trees), yukka plants (that was harder than it should have been) and Winter recoveries for strangers... and yes.. pulling myself off of a MUCH too large tree that I decided I'd show off, and climb over, and somehow balanced myself perfectly on the rock rails, with both sets of wheels off the ground. (to this day, no idea how I pulled that off)

The uses have been quite numerous.. actually happy that several of the folks out here convinced me to get it prior to a lift.

I should have mentioned that I have no need for a winch. I did need a steel bumper for my biggest concern in my area - deer. Working at 3:00am, I get to dodge them daily. You can't have a winch bumper and not have a winch, hence the cheap winch. It will be something to play with. The $114 Rampage bumper, while Chinese junk, is a pretty hefty chunk of metal, Unlike the factory plastic one.
