Fought to replace my fixed length front lower control arms with adjustables. One of them had a bolt seized in the sleeve. It took 4 hours to cut it out. And lots of carbide sawzall blades. Uppers tomorrow.

Oh man that sounds terrible. I guess I will use some anti-sleez when I get the AEV stuff on.

Anti-seize the shit out of the bolts if you live where they put salt on the roads in the winter.

They do. They use that salt brine liquid spray crap. It's funny, I talk about it all the time because I absolutely hate that crap. And it is terrible for the environment - but no big deal to the environmentalists - yet cut a tree and they all scream. but it's funny because one of my coworkers who grew up here always says they dont use salt here. But they do. I looked it up on the DMV website and they clearly state they use a brine solution to de-ice roads. But if yo look at the chemical composition of that stuff, sure it's not straight up rock salt, but it is in fact salt, chemically exactly the same. Plus as a liquid it gets into far worse spots than granular salt. They do supposedly add in a corrosion inhibitor, but I'll tell ya my little TJ when I moved here had ZERO rust on it. And by zero I mean ZERO. Not the slightest little spec of surface rust. Funny that most people, when talking about rust, don't even consider surface rust - but rust is rust, period. After the first winter here, driving my little TJ maybe a dozen times, it instantly started rusting on the springs and frame. Yet 18 years of coastal Washington and no rust at all.

I absolutely hate de-icer and salt spray with all that I am lol. I would rather drive 60 miles to town at 25 mph with 4 sets of chains than have half an ounce of deicer on the roads. that stuff is economically and environmentally toxic to the max.

We help sellers get multiple offer for their car in as little as one business day.
Installed Mopar Performance Rock Rails. I bought them off Craigslist for a great deal.

They look rad! Have you got a chance to test them out on any rocky terrain yet?

Thanks! I haven't had a chance to "test" them yet. I don't purposely do rock crawling, but for the occasional stumps and boulders, they should be good. I really like the fit and finish. They curve with the body contour and do a good job of covering the pinch seam. Prior to this, I had the Overland side steps, which were very practical for getting in and out (especially with kids). The steps on these are much shallower, but they work. The textured finish is grippy and provide good traction. The bottoms are nice, as they are contoured to prevent objects from catching. The price was great on Craigslist.

No salt, but still. I lathered it on.

I hung some @Metalcloak skid plates under my diesel JT Rubicon. Great coverage and strong would be an understatement .

Replaced my fixed front upper control arms with adjustable. Test drive was perfect. No noises and tracked straight. Did the lower fronts yesterday. And did the spring swap from freedom tops to sunrider. That felt good.

Well it took six months but after a long ordeal with re-gearing and flawed stock axle, ordering a spicer Dana 60 but needed 5 lug mounts and the shorter width of my stock axle, it is in.
I finally have 4.56 gears and no whine I think. I missed my truck so much. I did get a good deal on a 2016 2dr Rubicon to drive while I waited for the axle. I'm gonna use the 2 dr for work and keep the miles off my JT.

@jmdwifi - Where did you find a Dana 60 with a 5 lug pattern? It looks like east coast gear supply but was it a custom build? I don’t see it on their site

I went wheeling at Rausch creek last Sunday to do their Jeep badge of honor trails. I finally got around to getting under the Jeep this morning to check out all the scrapes and dings I might have encountered. When I was putting my mud flaps on I noticed this lovely love tap. I’m thinking I’m gonna purchase either rock hard 4x4’s angled up sliders or evo’s bomber rockers. I’m leaning towards rock hards mostly b/c I don’t like how evo’s has those bolts hanging down on the bottom of their sliders.

Installed the Bestop Sunrider top this morning in place of the Freedom tops. Very nice product and very easy to install. Also installed hood graphic from Underground Graphics. Also have something for around the front fender vent and tailgate. Have not installed those yet.
