As it doesn’t take away from the trade-in value (per OP)…unless you’re in the position where you’re pinching pennies, I’d just leave it on there and get rid of it as-is.

I've got about 11k into my jeep post purchase. Again, i'm not saying don't spent the money. I'm saying make sure your money is spent with intent. That 11k has lasted 15k miles and i expect it to spread out over another 110k minimum.

8.8 cents on addons a mile beats 71 cents a mile on addons any day of the week. AND i get more smiles per mile knowing i can take my jeep out for a pleasure cruise whenever I want.
WTF??? I have about the same into my JT after purchase. I love my supercharger, and without it I wouldn't own a JT. My supercharger gives me a ton of smiles per mile, and I take my jeep wherever I want!

Each person has their own likes and dislikes. Your opinion is not always right for everyone!

Mine was installed/removed by me (ASE cert). I never cared about warranty of the Heep or the Magnuson. My engine died. I replaced it with a 40 mile engine from a swapped JT. Sold it outright for $49k (owned it). Bought the TRX, which oddly enough is a huge add for the s/c lol. Now I have a 300 mile Magnuson that has zero value to me that nobody wants to buy. In the end it’s only money.

Why are you arguing for or against the positives of a supercharger when my position isn't "don't supercharge" it's "don't spend gobs of money on a vehicle you're not going to have for very long"

I have a 2021, with a Magnuson S/C that was installed at the dealer when the truck had 7500 miles, now has 22,500. it Adds 0 value when trading, but not sure it’s worth spending the money/time removing it either. Any idea of what it’s worth used?
I have a topic on the same question and got frustrated with all the "supercharger killed it for me," "albatross," blah blah blah.

Hopefully, you will do better than I did.

I determined the question is valid, but be careful of what you ask to whom. Very few forum members have the risk tolerance or desire to get into FI with the Pentastar. And maybe for a good reason. The forum members who actively engage in these topics are highly polarizing. The forum demographics might match the potential Jeep owner population, but there is a clear divide in either case.

For me, it comes down to time and money. If you can sell your Jeep faster without the supercharger, you might be $$ ahead because you're not battling depreciation. Carrying cost (insurance, registration) is a thing too.

I will continue to try and sell mine with the supercharger until the pricing gets too close to a stock value. I was offered $40k for a dealer to buy my truck. That tells me it might be marketable. Whether or not I want to wait to sell it as-is is another story.

As pointed out earlier, you spent "gobs of money" on a vehicle that could get wrecked Tomorrow. You could be in the same boat.

I have 5k directly insured as per my state regulations and am paying extra for a 20% over ACV policy to cover the remaining modifications. Additionally, depending on the nature of the accident, it is unlikely that they would all remain unrecoverable.

Try a personal sale, might get more money that way.

Not going into the resale values and aftermarket equipment..........we spend as WE see fit, so opinions are moot at best

This. Find someone that can appreciate the mods. That's definitely private party and not dealers.

However, if you found a dealer that you can work with, by all means go that route.

We once spent a gob of money on adding an in-ground pool to our house. The kids loved it and I felt it was worth it for that. When it came time to sell our house it was either a positive or a negative depending on the eye of the beholder. We certainly were not able to ask that much more for the house because of the pool - but someone who wanted a pool was more interested in buying it. Especially for those not fool enough to build their own! Pro tip: If you want a house with a pool, buy a house that already has one.

I think the supercharger mod could be like that. For the right buyer, you may be able to get more than if it was stock. I agree the dealer will act as if it's not there and then later make a big deal of advertising it and asking for more. I think this is the cost we all pay for the convenience of trading cars in. They have to make a profit. If you have time, I would suggest trying to market it to someone looking for exactly what you have there - a supercharged jeep that is running great.

Any question is valid. That being said…just make it clear that you’re looking for affirmation, rather than feedback or advice and you’ll get a more desirable response range.

Not kidding…along the lines of your post…when my wife asks for my feedback, I ask her flat out if she wants my feedback or is just looking for affirmation. She a very reasonable person, but doing that upfront saves both of us some time and aggravation.

I'm surprised it's not a value deduction for a trade frankly. But I imagine uninstall will probably run you around the same install did which I'm guessing is around 2k. System is worth 8 brand new. Used means no warranty which is dicey. I imagine you'll eventually find a buyer at half price, but when you deduct your removal costs and your time invested finding a buyer will it be worth 2k? That's a question only you can answer.

For future endeavors, here's a bit of math to look back on

Traded in with S/C: 15000 miles, $10000, $700 more in premium gas. That's 71 cents per mile your supercharger cost you beyond the cost of the vehicle excluding salvage value, tax, registration, insurance, and regular gas.

Traded in NA and sold S/C for 4k after 2k uninstall: 15000 miles, $10000, $700 gas, recoup $2000. 58 cents a mile just to be supercharged.

I'm not saying don't have fun with your vehicles, I'm just saying make sure you LOVE them before you dump serious money on upgrades.
100% agreed on the devalue as a trade. Dealers here would have bluntly said - take it off and then come back and we'll talk.

If I was to ever walk past a Jeep on the lot quickly - it would be a used one with a SC as you have no idea what's left inside that engine.

It’s a 2021 Mojave with 22,500 miles. Good packages (leather, cold weather, led, etc) and I’ve got buy (not trade) figures of $52k, so they’re not seeing it as a devalue. Looks like I wouldn’t get much more selling it privately, so I’m going to just let it go as it sits.

That's what I would do. There's also the risk of creating other issues by attempting to remove it and return it back to stock.
