Toyota had to hit a home run. The new Colorado and Ranger brought their game. What's amazing to me is that Toyota dealers have been selling the sh$t out of the current Tacoma dinosaur; I can only imagine how fast these puppies will fly off the showroom floor.

“Oh no only 1600lb of payload?!”

lol how much does your gladiator have already? Last I checked mine was closer to 1000lb than 1600lb. Would be a lot nicer for the camper. I think it’s right on the money, 4 cylinders are fine, I’m just worried about the hybrid stuff not being reliable. But looks like Toyota has trust in it, back it up with a good warranty. Not something we see so often, esp under FCA?

The trail hunter version looks interesting and glad Toyota is at least innovating. Toyota lured me away when Jeep bumped up their prices 20 years ago. But I'm too in love with my current JT to even think about switching back now. I will say I enjoyed my 2003 Taco and reluctantly sold it to a rancher there on the Big Island of Hawaii, probably not far from where they are filming. Bet its still running and pulling its weight around the ranch. I still have my 2008 Tundra parked outside. After I heard Toyota was a little shady about charging customers a monthly fee for remote start, I went back to Jeep. Plus the wife and kids love taking off the top and driving around. It's way more fun!
That fee is only for the app, I have no issue starting with my fob. You just have to be in site of the vehicle

So you can disconnect the sway bar on and independent front suspension. They say it gains 10% travel. What is that less than an inch. :CWL: Sounds completely useless to me.

Pretty nice looking. Sucks about the engine choices though. Guess that's why the front end appears to have tear drops forming.

As much as I hate that screen, it is a beautiful interior design. The exterior really isn’t my taste. Too many lines/edges or something. Maybe it’ll look better in person like the latest Tundra though.

I gotta say it is quite sharpe looking, however that screen is ridiculous! Good news though:

"Enthusiasts rejoice: a six-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT2) with automatic rev matching and anti-stall technology is available. Manual transmission models produce 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque."

That was an unknown prior, rumor was it was gone for the U.S.

Hybrid i-Force Max: 326 horsepower and a whopping 465 lb.-ft. of torque!! Limited time I am sure but wow. Jeep, what say you?

I think it looks good, not my style but will sell well, I also agree on the screen
Looks like an afterthought.
What I think Toyota should do is like Ford did, look back and see what purpose built vehicle you had that is built around performance and use instead of style, How would they do competing with Wrangler and Bronco with a new Land Cruiser removable tops and doors vehicle, maybe with solid axle.
Say what you want but Jeeps are sort of ugly not much real styling, they are built around the frame and usefulness which makes them beautiful. I started out in a 1946 CJ2A, and have had a few Jeeps but the latest Jeeps still trace their styling to that simple flat fender built for WW2 no styling ,nothing just for looks. Old Jeeps don’t really look old, and they fit right in with newest ones.
Well then again there are the Rubicon and Mohave hoods just for styling, but I jumped for that!……Jack

Wow a whooping 10% on the sway disconnect. If that's not just for bragging rights to your "Bros" I don't know what else it is useful for. While the hybrid is intriguing, inferior batteries plus a long warranty just means I have to worry more about mods and voiding the warranty because you know you're gonna need to use it. Also I hate the weird black angle piece on the rear of the bed. Just doesn't look right. Also that huge screen just bolted to the dash looks awkward and removes visibility on the trail. Sadly no thanks for me.
