Tazer Mini + Oracle Tail lights and reverse lights = a problem?

I was wondering if I added a aux power to them would that mess up anything... guess not! Nice!

Yeah I figure it's possible to wire the reverse bumper lights to either tail light, but my problem is that the Tazer killed the passenger side taillight reverse light (not tail (red) lights), which is where I plugged in my bumper lights, SO I think the Tazer thereby killed not only the pass. side light, but the bumper lights as well.

Sometimes when I do the 5x unlock command to turn on bed/reverse lights my passenger side reverse light won’t come on. Or will and then turns off. My oracle reverse lights are connected to the left side light.

It's a great little mod in theory, and I get it, computer stuff is fickle... but maybe they've just done too much and have lost some sort of quality control in the coding?

I mean, you don’t need to have it in your vehicle if you feel that way. I feel like this is a bit of an uninformed armchair comment. Especially in a situation like yours where there could be any number of root causes that may or may not be related to the Tazer.

I for one don’t think they’ve “done too much” or “lost quality control”. I find it to work as advertised when used as advertised, and I find that bugs when discovered do get patched.

Have you reached out to them at all? I would do that first if you think there’s an issue with your unit.

Some have found it's not even the device per se - that it's a connection issue from disconnecting cables and plugging tazer in.
At least one person resolved an issue by disconnecting and reconnecting and nothing more.

I still don't want one - but do have to say - they are responsive.

True, I don't need to have it in my vehicle, obviously. Uninformed? I have an issue. Others have issues. Seems like many of those issues are the same... I'm not flying off the rails angry and crapping all over the company or anything. All I said was there are so many cool options, but seems like MAYBE some of them aren't working properly. You said it yourself, bugs when discovered do get patched... here I am, trying to get some bugs discovered. lol... If nobody complains about bugs, it takes longer to patch them, in my uninformed opinion...

Anyway, I haven't reached out, my first stop is always forums, other people that have probably/usually/almost always had a VERY similar problem... goes for any mod...

Doesn't seem like I'm way off base here either, from what I've read about others' issues. Again, like I said, it's a cool product, and has TONS of potential... just hoping to get yet another bug worked out here!

I'll give that a shot! They click in securely, and have little retention clips/push buttons, so doubt that's it, but gotta start trouble shooting somewhere! I'm going to check the wires to the Oracle lights too... who knows... I did another Full Reboot and two sleep cycles... then forgot to check the lights lol...

Yeah no worries. I was just hoping to get you thinking more about the troubleshooting than starting to build a story in your head that ultimately will just make you more frustrated. We've all been there where we want to blame someone or something else, but truth be told most things can be figured out with a little focus and openness.

Have you done the full sleep cycle a few times? And have you confirmed that the problem goes away if you remove the Tazer? That would help eliminate the easiest things without diving into their "quality control in coding".

Tazer is updated to the latest firmware.

My Jeep already had LEDs, no changes there. The reverse lights all worked as they should prior to Tazer install.

I made NO changes to the light show settings via my laptop. I did try a couple out for maybe 30 seconds in the Jeep.

I followed Tazer install procedures, everything else went through (minus the blue screen when backup camera was initiated, but after a drive, that cleared, I believe due to the tire size change.)

Yeah, "Figuring it out" is NOT an option with the Tazer, I had my laptop with all instructions, and a few Youtube videos, in my passenger seat the whole 2.5 hours I spent putzing around with the thing...

Instructions on line (Through Z Auto) didn't match exactly with the latest firmware update IIRC... but I got thought it.

Just the reverse light issue now. I might unplug the additional Oracle bumper reverse lights, see if that helps. What a pain though...

I DID set the third brake light to flash (8 times).

Mine does the exact same thing. I have Oracle lights installed via the Driver’s side tail light. When I do the 5x unlock only the Driver’s side and hence the Oracles come on; passenger side does not come on and I assume it’s a Tazer issue. When I put the car in reverse, all lights come on as expected so I have no real safety issue or concern with it. Been too lazy to reach out to ZAutomotive about it.

So I researched, found out that setting the "LED TAILS" to OFF fixed the back up camera issue. (At least thats what I think right now, lol... I spent a few hours messing with it and driving around to get it set right... I MIGHT be wrong here.)

If you have it set to off then that is your problem. If that setting does infact take out your camera (Never heard of this happening) then your best bet would be to disconnect the bumper lights from the tail light and wire them into the Reverse Feed at the 7-pin in the bumper. Middle wire (Orange/White) is Reverse Feed.

I DID find a manual tranny issue with the blue screen (no camera found or something like that)... the recommendation was to reboot, sleep cycles, and drive over 80 for a bit... something like that. SO I did that, and a few other things, got the camera back on! But then noticed the reverse light issue...

DIdn't think of wiring the bumper lights to the bumper 7pin! That would be a solid fix I'd think. Thank you! Still going to try and fix it as it sits, but that'll be my last move for sure if all else fails. Thank you JP! Still LOVE my slick flush tail lights and the bumper reverse lights (wish they weren't so "Altezza" looking, but I 'm over that). SO much brighter backing up at night, even though all my tint! Love the factory look and feel (really, better than factory look) too.

I know this is an old post, but i'm having the same issue with mine.Installed the oracle reverse lights with taser installed.When I hit the button 5 times on the key fob, the right rear reverse light comes on delayed or not at all, any ideas or did you guys fix this. Plug and play harness is on the left side right side is the side that's not functioning correctly.
