Maybe some of us are proud we served in the military. Just saying. And I am not doughy at all.
my only gripe is when people have “Sapper”, “Sniper” or “ Special Forces” stickers. You bet your ass if I see a “Special forces” tab decal on a truck I’m asking what Special Forces Group they were in, and who was the commander. If they can’t answer those questions, they are obviously pulling the ol’ stolen valor trick. I worked with special forces guys out of a shitty little FOB for several months as a 19 year old Cavalry sScout in Iraq During OIF, and those guys taught me that the pool of special forces operatives is super small and if somebody can’t answer those 2 questions they are full of shit.

Yeah, I would be careful with that.

Completely off topic, but my son is at Benning right now training to be a Cav Scout. I was 11B. Quick funny story... I went to MEPS 3 times to try and get a scout slot. Gave up and took the 11X slot. My son was trying to get infantry, couldn't get a slot and took scout.

The diesel makes a better commuter than the gasser
and
The gasser makes a better off-roader than the diesel.

Jeep folk are suckers for garbage from catalogs. It’s embarrassing. Saw a guy with a black wrangler with ALL the orange plastic covers for everything the other day.
Other than that. It’s sad how nice the weather is here and how many Jeeps have a hard top with the windows rolled up on their still installed doors. Seen one Jl with doors off since I’ve lived in socal. Maybe 2 with half doors. With the tops still on them. Jeeps are everywhere. Windows up A\c on and 75-80 degrees out with no chance of rain.
When I lived in Hawaii, we all sold our doors to the five-oh production for filming purposes.
They were all just in a heap in my back yard anyway and it rained every single day.

I hate when people make Jeep there entire personality, its just the vehicle you drive not who you are, if a jeep is your personality you're probably pretty boring

Since getting mine I've had the top up maybe 50% of the time, only for rain. Bought the soft top so I have 0 excuse for not dropping the top and enjoying the experience.

I've actually got my coworkers with Jeeps taking their tops off too, had to have a little conversation with them and remind them that they're making the rest of us look bad when they refuse to go topless lol

Yea there are a lot of people, I call em the butter knife crowd, (because their tool box is a butter knife for a hammer, prybar, scraper and screwdriver) that don’t mess with stuff. No confidence. No experience. “City folk”. They’re like rich children with an overprotective parent. Ya hold their hand and they can do it, but it never crosses their mind that it’s doable. Funny thing is, they frequently think they’re expert doctors politicians, economists and dietitians.

Quite the take and I'm trying to grasp what you are saying but what I got is that 'city folk' and people without mechanic skills shouldn't own jeeps. I won't even get into the rest of your unpopular opinion.

There are a lot of people who own Jeeps that don't work on their Jeeps for many different reason. They don't have the expertise and/or they like the work to be done correctly by a professional. They don't have the proper tools or space to work on it. They don't have the flexibility to go a weekend (or days) without a vehicle. They don't enjoy working on it or they would rather spend their time doing something different. I'm sure there are many other reasons as well.

No reason to get defensive… probably.
You are correct you don’t grasp it at all.
