After struggling to get the two connectors unplugged so I could plug in my Tazer Mini I started searching the forum. I didn't see an answer beyond getting the extension cables to make it easy next time. BUT I found a simple way to do it (at least for my '23 Rubicon).

1 - Pull the access panel below the steering wheel
2 - You'll need a flashlight to see the connectors and a right angled pick.
3 - Position the right angle pick on the lip of the connector, then press the tab on the back with your index finger to unlock it, and at the same time pull down with the pick to unseat the connector.

On mine both connectors pulled free pretty easily using this approach, hopefully yours do as well.

If the factory amp is present, pulling the panel doesn't help much. The pick is a good idea, I used a small flat blade screwdriver for leverage on the tabs and pulled down with my fingers. I also recommend pulling the door harness so you can open the door all the way, the extra room is very welcome when contorting yourself under the dash.

I still recommend the extension cables my hands and my back do not want to do this ever again.

Thanks for the tip on the pick. I found my SGW module finally. I have huge hands and can only get a couple fingers in there to push on the tab. I tried returning my Tazer but vendor said I was SOL. Hoping I can get it installed.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a shot when it cools down outside. I've had my autostop eliminator since I got my Gladiator new in 2021, but I've never been able to unplug the connector under the dash. Some people have been able to do it no problem, and others are like me where we have tried over and over again with no luck.

Agreed...The extension cables weren't easy for me either. The big one started but had to use the pick to guide the small one into its slot. Glad this is done. If you have small hands may not be a problem but what a pain with big ones lol!

A long pick set and long needlenose pliers are absolutely worth the price for almost any automotive project, and would probably make this job a lot easier. I'm waiting on a Tazer to tackle this...

I definitely recommend getting extension cables. Here are the ones I bought:

I actually received 2 sets. So now I get to sell a set and make some money back!

Only thing I found that helped was try again the next day giving me a cooling off period over night and a morning of cussing saying to my self other people did it and so can I and I will not come back here crying its to hard. Glad I bought the extension as I would hate like hell to go through that again just for two connectors.

I did this, and then called my wife to do it for me since my bear-paw hands just don't fit in there.

To install the extension cable back in. I cut a clothes hanger into 2, 8" long pieces. Then I taped each plug to one of the hanger pieces. Then pushed each plug into place.

I think the real secret is to find a kid small enough to fit their hand in there, but strong enough to do it and also mature enough to see it through.

I had no problem either. I laid on my back upside down on the seat - head in the foot well, feet in the air. With my forehead flash light, I was able to see what I was doing and got my gorilla hands up in there. I didn't come out unscathed, but moving slowly and knowing what would bite me and how made the job easier.

I don't mind admitting I had a bit of a struggle as I have seen how little some people can do at 69
