Jeep was offering employee pricing and 1.9apr for 72 months on all Sport models. It expired on the 5th of this month.

They probably won't, but even if they did come out with a V8 option, it would not be priced for the ordinary working man. Of course they can always con some folks into financing them out at 84 plus months and laughable APR's. Jeep's MSRP's are grotesque and not getting better. No wonder I just bought mine at $10k off MSRP and 1.9 APR for 72. Even at that, they are over priced as all get out. I'll be waiting with popcorn to see the MSRP's of these new "refreshed" ones.

Yeah the prices are crazy even with the employee discount deals. The Sport S I test drove a couple weeks ago sticker’d for around $53.5k and it didn’t even have leather, any of the safety packages, tech package, etc.

I can get a loaded ZR2 for around $52k. Seems crazy to me.

Do you actually see them bringing back the diesel though. I’ve been waiting to scoop a gladiator till mid cycle and then it’s oh mid cycle here no more diesel… just super upsetting my big hope now for next week is we can get the float rear. But it just makes me sad because it’s like just imagine if we could get the diesel, with the float Dana in a max tow package like that is probably everything a lot of people would love

No, just wishful thinking. Diesel unfortunately is a victim of disinformation by climate alarmists even though modern diesel engines have smaller carbon footprint than gasoline engines. EV will continue to trend as virtue signal to the climate hypocrites, and for Stellantis to pander to obtain higher ESG scores. But I sincerely hope I am proven wrong.

You are exactly the right. The future of efficient vehicles should have been diesel, not electric. Now modern diesels are mandatorily molested by the factory to the degree they are no longer reliable.

I just hope if they do bring the 4xe to the gladiator that the battery is under the truck(like ford) and not under the seat. There will be no storage at all if the battery is inside the cabin.

Since it's not a complete redesign along side its counterpart, the Wrangler, It'll likely be full float rear axle and some interior refinements just like the Wrangler. I wouldn't be interested in 4xe until it's paired up with the inline 6. If Mazda can pair their inline 6 with a hybrid powertrain, then so can Jeep. I'd trade my diesel in for that. But not likely to see that until 2027-28ish, when it's due its redesign.

... and hopefully they make the rear window a roll down window in the new one.

Something occurred to me this morning. How did auto makers convince people that putting a V8 in a vehicle is some kind of extreme upgrade. Did I miss the memo on this? Since when?

Yes of course a V8 is usually an upgrade over a V6 in terms of performance, that's obvious. But vehicles have been coming with V8s since the birth of the automobile. Mainstream late model vehicles including Jeeps, 4Runners, and every full size pickup have had V8s. V8s are common. There isn't some V8 tax making them more expensive. They didn't have to do any engineering. The current Dodge Hemi has been around forever. Go to Ram dealership. V8s abound.

It's like through slight of hand, social media influencers, hype, smoke, bs Jeep has convinced people that the option for a small block V8 with hemispherical head (something most V8s have) is worth $38k over the JL Rubicon with a V6! That's more than what AEV was charging to put crate engines in Jeeps!

Oh, is it because there's a neat switch on the dash to boost the exhaust sound? Oh that's certainly worth about $10k. Yeah no one's had a sport exhaust button until Jeep. There's something Orwellian about convincing people to except that something that was once either standard practice or a slight upgrade is worth the price of an entire second (nice) car. I mean you could buy a Rubicon JL and a Miata Club Sport for the price of a 392. You could buy a Rubicon JL and a well equiped family car. You’re 2/3 of the way to buying a turn key Miata Cup race car or a Porsche Boxster for that delta. What's the Gladiator 392 gonna cost? $120k? You could put a crate engine in it for that price and build it into an off road monster second to nothing on the trails.
