Making a quieter truck, where to start?

I installed the full Topliner from Cover King... LOVE it. Wasn't a terrible install, you take your top off, upside down on a blanket, clean it, stick the adhesive, then install the mat... it's basically a heat molded carpet. I almost put in some Killmat underneath it, but I was low on time... I don't think it was necessary, the liner covers 100% of the white fiberglass inside, and man, it WORKS! Not sure on the temp changes, but it really cuts down the noise. I love it, AND love the look too...

Sweet, I think I'm going to do the windshield and part of the floors tomorrow. I bought a 36 sq ft box of Silless 80 mil. We'll see how it goes. Maybe concentrate on the areas closest to the wheels.

I can't line the outer door skins because I already had the whole thing rustproofed. SO I'll have to see what I can do under the door panels....

Paired with hot headliners and their sound dampening I’d think that’d make a noticeable difference.
Other than that it’s road noise from tires and wind.

Skip the hot head liners and go with the Topliner from Cover King. WAYYYYY better.

Rustproofed? Do tell...

Rustproofing and undercoat. It was just under a grand to have it fully protected but if it rusts they cover the body work for life. The catch is that I have to bring it back annually to have it inspected. But that's no cost. Had them tint my windows too. I might have them do the sound treatment and a ceramic paint polish done next summer.

man, I'm jealous lol... I've seen them before, nothing available over here on the other coast unfortunately.
I wish they had something around here...

Really want to start making the truck quieter. I'm going to have to do this in chunks because;
1) I don't have a ton of extra cash right now
2) I don't have the time to really completely pull the truck apart and do the whole interior in one shot

Where do I start?

Agreed. Posted a while back the difference Coverking made when paired with sound deadening on the fiberglass cap. Looks incredible as well..

The one caution I would tell you is, if you plan on using the satellite radio, know where your antenna is and don’t you sound deadening over it. It will block the signal periodically and you will not be happy.. Other than that…amazing.

Agreed on the cover king, I installed on mine with sound deadening. I really did not like the white fiberglass look and now it looks a lot nicer.

The key is to start with mud tires, and then it will be quiet in comparison once you swap.

My plan at least.

Finished up the roof and windshield

It's WAY quieter than before. Even got positive comments from the skeptic. I've got a full sheet of it left so I may go up the fire wall some more.

Using Alpine's pic. Is this where the satellite antenna is located? I know they say not to cover it with the sound deadender.

The thing is the factory location is pretty much there if I am not missing something?? Looking at moving mine to above the front driver visor.

It seems to be pretty close to there, yes.
I haven't seen any change in reception or having it cut out any more than usual.

oh thanks for that picture. I kept thinking it was on the hardtop which makes no sense! I will make sure to mark where it is on the hard top when removing.
