I'd love an explanation how being disconnected is worse offroad than an antirock

Antirock keeps the body more level while still allowing wheel travel. The body remaining more level keeps weight above the axles and gives you better traction.

Check out the comp rigs with coils. They all have sway bars.

I love my Anti Rock on my JK. I don't find that it has a lot of body roll. On the trails, it just works.

I got my Anti Rock used and cheap which, I'm sure colors my opinion slightly, but it's not a mod that I regret at all. I looked at other solutions before I bought the Anti Rock and already had manual disconnects (which worked but sucked to reconnect for highway travel) but the convenience of more off road articulation and then being able to drive it home without having to do anything was what sealed the deal.

nope; this thread was started as a discussion about the offroad capabilities of a Mojave/Gladiator ( by a relatively new Jeep owner ), and has deviated from that initial thread to different material things [ and debates about who's got the bigger aftermarket gear ]. Honestly, and I'm being direct here, those folks are welcome on this thread and should have respectfully started their own additional threads.

In this thread, I was hoping to hear feedback from other gladiator owners ( primarily Mojave owners ), around their adventures, what they have experienced, and what kind of off-road scenarios that they may have gone through in ways that really impressed them. As a Mojave owner, I'm interested in hearing about Mojave-adventures, and scenarios for which the stock-ish Mojave really shined. For example, I don't really have a lot of sand in my part of the country, but I do have relatively close access to tons of forestry trails, and I really like how the factory build is capable of going through some puckery-spots on the trail, and seems to soak up some of the rougher areas ( going to and from those puckery-spots ). I don't have a Wrangler to compare against, but I would imagine that the longer wheel base would also help out the overlanding-crowd, and I would love to hear about some benefits that maybe some of those overlanders have enjoyed. There are some folks on this thread that frequent beaches, and I would love to see them post more vids/pics of their Mojave doing awesome beach activities. For folks off-roading in snow, did the Mojave shine their too, and what traction-modes really helped? And for those that crawled through something, did you find the 4lo w/ OR+ to be super helpful?

Took my canoe for a drive up a mountain in my Mojave! The truck was fully loaded there for a 2 month camping trip. Did a lot of back road exploring, I have a habit of enjoying the suspension in this truck…. To the point the the roof rack and aluminum canoe gunnels have grooves in them from the vibrations. Before anyone says need to tie down tighter it was as tight as possible.

Did a lot of back road exploring, I have a habit of enjoying the suspension in this truck…. To the point the the roof rack and aluminum canoe gunnels have grooves in them from the vibrations. Before anyone says need to tie down tighter it was as tight as possible.

Here’s another example from the Mark Twain National Forest. It seems sketch to me, but the Mojave made short work of it. Even when I thought I would get all crossed up, it stepped right on through, without issue, and without needing the special traction modes. I don’t know the exact rating of this trail in OnX, but it would be somewhere between a 3 and a 5.

Hope this is ok? I’ve got a 2022 JT Rubicon Never had a Jeep before. Usually go off-roading in my Landrover Discovery 2 with a bunch of Fords and Toyotas, some Nissans, the odd Zuk and G Wagon. Neither myself or anyone else in my group can believe how incredibly capable the Jeep is directly off the showroom floor. We don’t have a lot of Jeeps here in New Zealand and it seriously took them a bit by surprise. A weapon. And so much fun! Glad you are loving yours.

I find it interesting that many feel the Gladiator is underpowered when in fact the motor is a high revving, throttle happy, powerplant! Yes, it's no hemi but it's more than adequate for most of our needs on the highway and off road. It also has a nice exhaust growl when you put your foot down. I came out of a Ram Rebel with a Hemi to my Mojave and I've been fine with the performance that I'm getting along with better fuel economy.

Smoother until it wasn’t kinda thing..
The rear needs a bit of weight to drive better imo.
I had about 350lbe of gear/food including the canoe. Not including the bumper, winch & rear sliders.

For off-road use, in the terrain that I’m working with, I totally agree; and it’s more than adequate to be a lot of fun on gravel/dirt roads as well. I’m sure that a Hemi would be loads of fun, and if I had one in my JT, I’m a little worried that I might play a little too hard.
