Wondering what data were collected for them to came up with that determination.
Environmental factors related to fuel storage.

The CPX option is interesting.

It’s my understanding that not all failures are caused by a turning lobe though, so pinning will likely solve that issue, but the metal compounds of the rollers also an issue is my understanding. If any debris / buildup occurs that stops the motion of the roller “bearing” the lobe begins to break down and shed metal.

Not nuking the fuel system through its bypass fuel routing is nice, but it’s not worth 1k to void warranty at this point.

FCA needs to make this right.

Agreed. Since it's new and hasn't been proven yet. It's all comes down to who is easier to go after if things goes south. Imo FCA is the safer bet.

Metal found in the fuel filter assembly…

33.5k miles
EDT or LX4 every tank 2-4oz since 2k miles….

Should I just get rid of the vehicle? I do rely on it……

Been there, and I won't go back on an Eco Diesel. Unfortunately, dump it before it gets hit with a carfax of a new engine, then nobody will buy it, besides a dealer that knows they will dump it at an auction.

Yeah, I have a bit of an ethical issue with selling a truck I know is about to die and screw somebody else

Have you ever seen a used vehicle for sale sitting on a lot that includes a list in the window with everything known wrong? Nope, and you never will. Thats part of buying a used vehicle. You roll the dice every single time.

Most people get rid of their vehicles because something is wrong will it.
I only sold vehwith a problem. When I was asked why I am trading i told them the truth. I said I was a hunk of shit and I had nothing but problems with the truck. Still gave me a decent price and they took it in and sent it to auction. Every other vehicle I bought was simply because I wanted a new one.

About to pull the trigger on a 23 Gladiator diesel. I emailed RCD to see about getting a pump for it, before it craps out. Have not received a reply yet. I would pay the extra to have peace of mind, along with a GDE tune.
I realize the failures are a small percentage of what was sold.

Lol do you want mine? :-P

I did have a conversation with JeepCares privately. They did indicate that parts are not yet available, and they will notify me when they become available...

They also said something interesting that I do not understand, I asked for clarification and haven't gotten anything back.

They replied with this. (Kate sorry if this is a breach of privacy, I just would love to understand what this 'Service Component is')

Do know, a reminder is set to reach out to you as soon as the parts needed for your repair are available. Until then, there is a service component that can be installed, but the recall will not close. If you'd like to have that installed, let your dealership know and they can move forward. If you need any support from us during that, you can reach back out!

I asked for clarification and have not gotten a response yet.

I think it's a stock 4.2.

Can you guys educate me on the CPX replacement? It’s just an upgraded HPFP that will (hopefully) be more reliable?

I’ve got about 23k miles on my MY21, so I guess having a backup plan for once my PT warranty expires would be good, since I have no faith that stellantis will have an actual fix implemented by then.
