We like the Garmin RV series GPS units. And they have most legal off-road trails as well. Add a Delorme atlas for a good overview.
Are they really that much better!?

I’ve been debating the Garmin units or an in-dash unit from Best Buy/Crutchfield.

Dude…you have a smoker?!?! Do you want or need any additional camping friends!?!? ?
Yes, I have a Pit Boss portable smoker. Holds 7 lb of pellets. I used to run a charcoal grille but after running out of charcoal more than once I decided the smoker would work better for me. I have a big Pit Boss at home so it's easy to have a tub of pellets to throw in the RV.

I have been known to throw a couple racks of ribs on it, go wheeling, come back for lunch to wrap and refill the pellets, go back out and have BBQ ribs for supper. Haven't tried a brisket yet but planning on it possibly this weekend at the Uwharrie Veterans day ride. Trails being close to camp is the important thing so we can come back to wrap the meat.

I use Garmin with lifetime maps in most everything. In our Class A, we had a Rand Mcnally gps. It's a little different from the Garmin system. I would go with the Garmin.

I run Sygic RV and Truck GPS on my tablet which is mounted above the dash. It works pretty good.

I find the Garmin RV series better than the Jeep built-in 8.4" nav, but otherwise haven't compared it to anything else. The built-in databases of campgrounds, including phone numbers, and also including informal camping like the back of the fast food place in the middle of the (very large!) Navaho rez. And Four Square or Trip Advisor entries for restaurants, parks, museums, etc, which don't even show in the Jeep nav. And all the little forest roads and such.

I always had 2 sewer dump hoses.
One short cheap one, with only 1 end for dump stations.
One full length very nice one with both ends and and adapter for full hookup campgrounds. Plus some way to fully support it.

2 water hoses, one for fresh water and one for flushing the black tank. I added a "tornado" or sani flush to my black tank. A lot of the newer RVs already have this. I would install a 6" clear section on the black dump, then the sewer hose. Hook water hose to tornado and flush black tank.

Leveler block, as in giant Legos or something similar.

Garmin doesn’t offer their GPS services in an app format, right? I’m trying to limit any devices on the dash or windshield if I can avoid it.

But it sounds like these units are too good to pass up…

Is your rv self-leveling?

No. I’m meeting with a co-worker who recently sold his RV to pick through his stuff and see what I need.

Blocks are def on the short list.

We have a very small 16' RV (Provan Tiger), so things need to be compact as storage space is very limited. We have a set of nesting pots made for backpacking (not that I'd ever take anything that large backpacking) and lacking a microwave or oven, a Bemco stovetop backpacker oven which folds flat and works quite well. A 1-cup collapsible cone filter holder for coffee. A light toolkit including a small electric screwdriver and pop riveter for RV repairs. Folding saw for when firewood needs to be cut. A portable jumpstarter battery, not just for jumpstarting but also for charging USB devices. A pump-pressurised spray bottle with water for rinsing dishes with much less water than the sink faucet (and can be used outside so as to not fill the gray water tank).

I also use the outside shower to wash dishes. To make it easier, I ran wires to a second water pump switch, waterproof, mounted in the outside shower cavity. And also some little white LED marker lights, to make it easier to wash in the dark. Biodegradable dish soap. And that pressurized sprayer idea sounds like a nice way to save water, too.

A paper copy of the KOA directory in case the phone/gps goes down. KOA is great for easy night registration.

Maybe a gallon or two of extra fuel in case you didn't quite make it to the next station. I wish I could program the low fuel light to come on at 1/4 tank instead of 1/16 or whatever it is.

Have you thought about using the Curt wiring harness for your tail/stop lights? On my 22 Mohave it was a simple install and works perfectly.

What's nice is that we have most of these since we've been camping using our rooftop tent. But that oven looks like fun!!!

Thank you!!

Yes! This is also on my short list!

Is this just grunt work? Just zip tie along the frame rail?

Well...I suppose I can live without any accessories! But they're nice to have :)

It's not particular to an RV, but I would say a 3D printer! I'm a FTer so it comes everywhere with me. I've made remote holders, hat hooks, Wallet/Key holder, brackets for my lithium upgrade, cable holders, grommets, and many other things. It's a nice freedom to have when you start RVing and find little things that could be improved with a simple printed part.
