Depends who you ask
Where are yall finding the tire weights? I'd like to be able to compare by weight also acctual diameter as most 37s aren't actually 37 inches tall nor are 35s 35 inches. Kinda like some new math or something.

@TheHops by Uncle Sam you must mean you are military. Thank you for your service!
Indeed. Going on 12 years. Almost there!

Thank you!

Here's what I find interesting about the stock vs 35 vs 37 argument and gearing. I had a '19 JL and had light Patagonias on it, I could peel wheels! No need/desire to regear. When I went to 37x13.50 Toyo MT, not so much and it wandered more. So I've had my JT for a few months and looking to upgrade to 37s on the Rubicon gears...again. The Pats were about 72 lbs, the BFG KO2s I believe is 64lbs ..... Those Toyos were 90+ lbs. So....pounds matter, period. I see so many people say "gonna regear" but nothing happens...basically as expensive as tires and wheels are, then you're actively choosing to spend another $2k for gears. No thanks! Buy light tires and you don't need gears. The caveat. Someone who actively rock crawls.... But for those daily drivers, and off-roaders...I'll stick to light tires with gears and a wonderful transmission.
You're absolutely right. I just never experienced firsthand just how *much* weight matters. I never sit down and did the math, then dod a practical test. It literally rides like night and day. More pep. Softer ride. And, let's be honest--meaner looks.

Quick before/after for those interested.

My favorite addition may be the little red vinyl lug nut covers. ? Nice little extra pop of red.

Plans for better pictures and a walkaround/video review when weather permits. Check out my channel if interested! https://youtube.com/@TerraOutdoors

Tire weights are on the manufacturer's pages under the respective part numbers.

You're correct though. Both my 35s and 37s were roughly .5" short of advertised. I took that into account with the calculations.

Checked out your YouTube, the Mississippi trip was cool. Funny thing was I had watched some of your last videos because of the RSI cap without knowing. Keep it up and def post a rig update video?

Haha, nice! Thanks for checking out the channel!

I am long overdue for another update. A fair bit has changed. Along with that, I plan on putting together a snow camping trip log or two over in the Adirondacks this winter. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time.

You'll be stuck in way less than 36" of snow. Once it gets to about 18 to 20", regular 4wd pickup trucks start to have problems with the snow building up under the truck and basically lifting it off the ground and getting stuck. Not sure how much more a lifted Jeep would help. Maybe a couple more inches. But I suspect 20" of unplowed snow, and you'll start to have issues. Tires won't make a bit of difference if they ain't touching the ground! Would love to see this in action though! I could be completely wrong, and you'll plow through like nothing.
So true, years ago when there was a really good snowstorm in the city I was in we decided to go urban snow wheeling, there was a lot of shovelling and wheels not contacting the ground due to being high centered on built up and packed down snow.

I had the BFG KO2 in 315-70-17C and now have BFG KO2 in 37 12.50C. I honestly think the 37s ride and handle so much better than the 315s did. The 37s are a little narrower and a little more round in the side wall. A little less steering wheel bind and they track better on the freeway. Only 1 pound heavier than the 315s. I am going to do 4.88s but don't feel like I really need to do it. I'll report back when the gears are done.
