Fox shocks from Rubicon

I was asking a general question if it was worth changing to the new Fox Shocks that my neighbor removed on Rubicon. I love my HA, and it is stock and rides perfect. Just was wondering if getting the FOX shocks was worth it is all.

Quick question,
My neighbor is selling his new Fox Shocks from his Rubicon ( he lifted his Rubicon and put bigger tires, etc..). I have a Jeep 2021 Gladiator HA edition. He is selling all four for $200. Are these ok to put on a HA or are they designed for the Rubicon suspension setup?

Personally- would never recommend anyone factory rubicon fox shocks…. If you are looking for a budget upgrade bilstien 5100’s…. Could not get our factory fox shocks off quick enough…. Too soft and literally bounce at highway speeds…

I can agree with this mostly. The Rubi suspension is softer than the O'land was, so it seems to be more bouncy than stock. I use to love driving the JT over my TJ, because the ride in the TJ was choppy... until I put a JKS lift with their J-Spec shocks in... I really love driving the TJ over the JT now... it feels better planted and not as boaty as the JT feels.

If you’re not trying to get any lift, your ha shocks probably handle better. The rubicon fox shocks are tuned oddly. Regular fox 2.0’s are far better.

Oh yeah, there is definitely a temptation to make changes, mods, or try things out, and there’s a temptation to jump onto good opportunities when we see them. Some mods can have a snowball effect, or take you down a rabbit hole. By all means, try some things out to your hearts’ content. Some folks, like myself, for some bigger items will plan them out with a buy once / cry once mentality.

For an inexpensive set of shocks, if you can’t resist the deal, you could always try them out for a few weeks or whatever, and then sell the set that you don’t want. Seems like your risk/commitment is fairly low on this one. It’s good to ask some of the folks here, b/c there is a lot of knowledge and experience they can share.

Could always get a cheap set of the red bodied rubicon shocks off the 23 gladiators. Much stiffer and probably cheaper since it doesn’t say fox on em.

The HA models have a "sport tuned" suspension. Whatever that means.

The stock HA shocks might not have the floaty/soft feeling. I can't remember, I pulled the stock shocks off mine when it still had temp tags. I pulled them for a lift, not because I was unhappy with the ride.

I would leave it alone since you are happy with the ride. Good chance you'd prefer your current shocks over the Rubi shocks.

I did not like the Rubicon suspension at all. It rides way too soft, each corner is in a deathmatch with the other corners and it just gets all wonky from front to rear corners. I'd save the $200, put it in a piggy bank until you can get what you really want. If you don't know what you really want then don't get the take-off suspension either.
