I can't believe nobody noticed that Dodge sold 2 VIPERS in Q4. How are there even Vipers sitting around?

I'm starting to believe...
Man! 2022 viper is going to be worth some serious $$$$$ in 20-30 years… ??? one of a few!?!

That and Dodge Darts that went out of production in 2016 seven years ago. I think most of those are broken down back lot queens that were forgot about and finally got around to being fixed and sold.

That doesn’t explain why other automakers grew sales.
it adds to your very point about the other trucks and JT being a niche vehicle and a toy. The other are going to sell more in this market because they need the truck not want it for fun.

Own 2020 JT. Worked very hard to be able to have it as a play toy as I own a newer F150 XLT. Reason I bought the JT - I had a Scrambler 10 years after they came out. Worst vehicle I ever owned. It leaked like he**, heater was terrible, over 55mph was scary and very uncomfortable BUT it was the most fun I ever had with a vehicle esp with the top off (the 4' bed was ridiculous). So when the JT came out I had to have one. Got to be honest and this is what I tell people who compliment the JT when they see it. Dont' go in debt to use it as a daily driver. Its tight inside, you've got to fight the steering esp on long trips, terrible gas mileage, bed is manageable but small, acceleration is adequate. Its still the most fun vehicle I've ever had though (esp. customizing it the way I want). I pamper it like no other I've had (never seeing salt). BUT AGAIN my 2.7L 6cyl F150 beats this thing in every category except - fun. This is why, I believe they will eventually die off. I paid 10,000 more for the JT Rubicon over what my F150 4x4 cost that gets much better mpg, comfort galore, seats 5 luxuriously, power seats, bigger bed, much better acceleration, quieter, better tech and better towing. Hands down I take the F150 if I had to choose 1. Luckily I could own both and I love both - just in different ways. Some days I just go out and look at the JT (the design still amazes me) - but ask me which one I'm driving 400 miles to Da UP of Michigan - hands down the F150. Ask me which one I want to drive around for fun - hands down my JT.

I think it's a few reasons. Market factors like inflation and interest rates affect all brands.

Gladiator's are a niche vehicle. IFS is better for everything but off road. It's not the most comfortable ride and so in.

Jeep pricing got insane. Even compared to other manufacturers their pricing relative to inflation is the highest among CDJR. I only bought because I got below invoice price.

Maybe a number 3 reason. Stellantis had inventory through the pandemic relative to others manufacturers. Demand has been met.

Lastly, others have mentioned it. New Tacoma, New Colorado, and New Ranger.

A clever moderator would handle posts like the original thusly:
go to the multiple other threads, such as "we're screwed" or any of the other sales reports, Jeep sales down threads and so on,
They would highlight every single post after the first, copy them all, and paste them after the first post here.

Anyone had the feeling of Déjà vu all over again?

In other words - is there an echo in here?

or

Jeep Gladiator Gladiator sales down 22% in 4Q, 29% overall in 2023 1704384307956

It's all opinion anyway, total speculation.

I'm with the never sell my truck crowd. the plan is when the electronics start to fail, strip it down and make it a play toy only.

I may need to look into the Wagoneer for my daily as I'm seeing new 22s with $35-40k discounts.

Whether people buy a truck for work or fun, at the end of the day consumers want a vehicle that meets three basic needs: (1) be reliable/durable, (2) be safe, and (3) provide decent value for money.

Looking at it from the outside, Jeep and its dealers have a spotty reputation on (1) and (2); Gladiator in particular struggles on (3).

this surprises me…

Also, Jeep would sell more vehicles to small businesses if they had more models over 6000# GVWR. That’s why I have a Gladiator.

The JTR is objectively better in at least one way, off road. Not just subjective/fun.

Just throwing this out there: I'd estimate that I see 100 non-Jeep midsize trucks for every JT I see. Most people want a pickup truck, not a Jeep, and the JT is a Jeep Wrangler with a pickup bed. Ford, Chevy, Toyota all offer trucks with big payloads and towing capacity now and better engine options than the JT. There's nothing special about the numbers. Demand for JT is less than demand for new Colorados and Canyons that can be had for a lot less than the cost of a JT and are very arguably much better trucks to live with day to day. Personally, and selfishly, I don't care if jeep stops making a JT. The cost of old Jeep pickups has gone way up and if less JTs on the road make my truck more valuable, then hell ya.
Are you saying big payloads and towing capacity in their midsizes? I wouldn’t say that is drastically enough to change sales on Gladiators. They are all with in a couple hundred lbs or so I would assume.

Ironically, that's not first in a lot of minds............ style and appearance sells almost as much as safety to many people. Look at the commercials on TV - the type of people in the ads, how they look, how they are dressed, even the glasses that are put on them or their stance in the ad. It's appearance.

Oh no, the gladiator only accounted for 3 billion in sales (55K at an average transaction price north of 50K). What a sales failure boo hoo the sky is falling, the sky is falling...

By this logic stellantis should cancel basically every vehicle they make besides the ram pickup, the pacifica, the wrangler, and the grand cherokee because they are all worse than the gladiator.
