would call dirty or wet, but damp? with what appeared to be clean looking light oil residue.
I understand that port injection negates much of the issues caused by this, but I am morbidly curious about what's being fed back into my fuel and air mixture to be burned off or churned
Interesting. I'll have to get a picture of mine then and post it somewhere. I actually have s legit stream of oil that can be wiped up by a cloth. Like enough to dip a chip into, filling the ridges of the flex part of the hose where the PCV punches in.

I’ve rinsed a couple times at the car wash with the low pressure spot free rinse, but I’m really worried about shorting something out, so I don’t do a great job. I’ve heard enough horror stories.
I mostly hand wash with home pressures. Typically I'll throw what's left in the bucket across the engine and then rinse that away with the hose. I've done that with every vehicle I've ever owned and never had a problem.

This was 2014 Mazda with 156,000 miles the day I sold it.

Sounds like a perfect method. Our well water is so hard I don’t wash them at home. :)

Let us know what you think. I’m curious if it gets better mpg. I watched some videos and there’s a lot of oil going through there.
Straight from one of the engineers who designed the Pentastar.....Catch cans cause no harm. But there's no real benefit, either. There is also zero harm in letting that oil get burned off in the combustion chamber. It's part of the emissions system and it is mainly in the form of a VERY tiny amount of vapor that gets in there with each stroke. Not enough to impact it by even 1 horsepower.

It would make me feel good to keep that crap out, but it just isn't necessary.

This morning I did an oil change, tire rotation, and finally got around to installing a leveling kit. Since I knew that I was going to raise the front one and a half inches, I decided to also add the Mopar lift kit lower control arms since they are for a kit that lifts the front two inches. Since it the front end is now higher, I corrected the headlight aim too.

Next up will be correcting the "Pitch" display in the Off Road Pages, but I will have to catch a few minutes in the shop to get it done using WiTech. Still debating on doing an alignment, but with the Mopar lower control arms and the level kit basically cancelling each other out (as far as caster changes go, it may have gained a small bit more caster), I haven't seen any real changes in how it drives. The steering wheel is centered, and it returns to center possibly a little bit better than before.

All's that's left then is the toe setting. Easy enough to DIY. Sounds like you're more than capable.

I thought about it, but I decided I would do an alignment when I replace the tires. No doubt the toe isn't exactly on the money, but it is close enough for now (it feels like it has a little more toe out than before, but the caster is keeping it stable). I'm actually too cheap to replace tires with good tread, but when I buy some better tires I will dial it in. Working at a Jeep dealership has some advantages.

Finished the EcliK shock install. It’s truly amazing. It’s all but eliminated body roll. I hit a large speed bump at 30 in Baja mode and the tires never left the ground. It’s like having a Mojave (minus the reinforced frame and knuckles) that still rock crawls like a rubicon.

It wasn’t that cold today, like 27. :). I couldn’t wait. I came home after dropping kids off, snowblowed the driveway, and took the wheels off.

Wait. Is that a remote attached to the tcase shifter? That’s crazy
It’s a touch screen and click wheel that replaces the stock knob. It’s the monitoring and adjustment controls for the shocks. You can change between road, off-road, and desert/baja, and can then further adjust for stiffness/softness for bed weight, cornering, braking, acceleration, etc. It’s definitely crazy. I did the test drive today and cannot believe the difference.
