I have the Mopar slush mats in my 2023 JT Sport S. I've had trouble getting the mat to sit solidly on the driver's side. It doesn't move around but it's been annoying me. There is a drain hole plug in the mat but not in the carpeting below the mat (see photos).

Is this a manufacturing mistake? Should the carpeting expose the floor below?

My carpet plugs were 90% cut. I had to pull one end of the carpet plug/patch up and finish the cut. Then my rubber mats went down into the hole, thru the floor, and snapped in place.

once you remove the perforated carpet and the rubber drain plug underneath, the mat will 'snap' into the drain hole and you can put the drain plug directly on your floor mat.
Yeah, clever using the floor drain plug to go into the mat as the mat's drain plug.
Really handy in winter salty type weather - take a bucket of hot water out, dump it into the mat, swish it around, pull the plug and let it drain out. Mat is clean without ever removing it.
Great for getting the winter salt crap out.

Interesting on my 2022 Mojave the carpet was already cut and a rubber plug installed in the floor board. All I had to do is move the plug from the floor to the Mopar floor mat.

In the carpet picture I see one edge of the perforation . Vacuum the carpet . Dig with your fingernail it's there matches right up with the hole in the matting. Actually it's a little larger. Good Luck.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned- I had to use a razor knife to remove the carpet pieces. They weren't cut enough to just rip out, so I had to cut each side of the oval shaped carpet piece where they were attached.

Out of 3 different Jeeps with this setup, some came out easily with only a strand or two still connected, requiring some nipping, a couple of others required a bit more slice to remove. Seems the 2020 I had they popped right out.
I suppose it depends on how sharp the blade in the carpet press is that day?

Here is my problem, did all of the removal cut more out of the carpet so the mat fit in the hole better. Still have water coming through and wetting the carpet. Pulled the mat out and added strip caulk to seal the mat to the floor. still leaks on the passenger side!

Did you press the rubber down into the drain hole? You shouldn't have any leaks after that. Definitely shouldn't be needing caulk.
