The progress of my build over the past year. I wanted to be able to have a RTT and a motorcycle but I didn't trust the hitch mounted motorcycle carriers. I opted to have the bike in the bed but that's left me with some space constraints. I found a great deal on eBay for the Thule Foothill, a half width tent that's meant for people who want to bring a kayak or something else on their roof rack. I made a 1/4 rack(?) out of some c strut to mount into the bed and it worked but wasnt mounted in except where it slid under the tonneau cover rail. definitely made for a sketchy sleeping experience as i had to hold the frame in place with a ratchet strap. The camp box and cooler were able to slide under the RTT on a ikea floormat so they would stick to the bedliner.

I eventually had a local shop weld me up a truly square frame and one that was significantly lighter than what the prototype was.

I then added some 500lb drawer slides and a piece of plywood to be able to slide out a cooler and my camp tote with my stove and other gear.
Ive changed the orientation around a few times and made a small box with coffee table hinges and was also able to use a hammock attached to the 1/4 rack.

I've since bought a cheap awning from Walmart that stows in the camp box and have been scouring the internet to see how and what people are making their camp kitchens out of. I'm leaning towards HDPE since the slides are out in the open and there's not much room for me to enclose the box if i want to upgrade to a 12v fridge as its only 16" wide between the frame and wheel well.

First pic is from my Christmas trip going from Alabama to NC via the GA traverse, Smokey Mountain 100, tail of the dragon and Old NC 105. the 2nd is from a airshow that I volunteered at and lived out of for a week with my gf.

Any suggestions or pics of yall's kitchen setup would be helpful as i have drew up about 8 different variations of it so far.

Looks like a solid functional set up.

Have you added airbags on the back?

That setup is aces! I have looked at that tent a hundred times but never pulled the trigger because of the bed overhang in the rear. Seeing it in your pics, it doesn’t really concern me so much anymore especially because I had a similar idea, although my Ducati won’t be the one in the bed of the Jeep. I have been looking to pick up a dual sport or enduro bike for this purpose. There was a particular bed kitchen design that really stood out to me because it looked so good. I’ll find it after some more searching and post the link to the thread. Yours looks pretty darn good for now though, I don’t know that I would change it again until I had to.

credit @Wolf Island Diver for this set up, I friggin love it!

I have not. I have started to look into different /adjustable suspension options to support the back end when loaded but im only in the browsing stage.

Very nice set up. I have often thought about how I could accomplish the same without the the use of a trailer and don't really feel right putting my DR-650 on a hitch carrier.

Well done! Also, what bike is that? Scrambler of some sort?

I absolutely love this setup. The half width rack w/tent is awesome. Well done. I've been contemplating extending the tongue of my trailer enough to be able to load my KLR on and take it along.

Excellent job setting all that up. Looks like a blast. I'd be road tripping everywhere with that setup if I had the time.

Absolutely. You can never have enough toys with you. That’s my philosophy anyway.LOL. I’m Currently working through a better strapping strategy for my sons and my dirt bikes. The angles get a bit narrow in the Gladiator Bed With two bikes.

That's one of the coolest set-ups I've seen. I remember hearing about that tent a few years ago but had never seen one. I was considering something similar before I got my camper, where the tent would be on half the low rack I had and a mount for my bikes on the other half. I like it! and the moto too. That's a sweet ride.

Pretty slick setup! Those desert sleds are a fun bike to rip around on. Hard to argue with Italian two wheel torque!

Out of curiosity, do you have any pictures from the right side when everything is closed up like you're about to go driving? Would love to see more photo's of the whole setup in "highway mode" for lack of better word. It's giving me some ideas for a setup. My issue is wanting to be able to take 2 motorcycles and maybe a mountain bike or two but this has sparked some new idea's based on that tent.
