I have been looking at various inflation set ups. Planning on getting the ARB twin ( I know others are cheaper but I have had ARB in the past and never had any issues). I really would be fine with doing 2 tires at a time but am looking at 4 as well. I have seen Thor's Lightning and EZ flate have manifold and line kits. Does anyone have any thoughts on if there is any significant difference between brands? Is there another brand to look at?

It’s all just parts. I am building my own as we speak. 2 tire air up/down setup for somewhere around 70 bucks with digital gauge. Just waiting on my hose which should be here tomorrow.

A while back I put on the Up/Down Air system, and I've really liked it. Has brackets, lines, and regulator all permanently installed so the only thing I need to connect are short whips to the tires. Makes it really easy to set up and break down, and balances the pressure among the tires. You do pay more for this type of convenience though. It was worth it to me to minimize what I have to store in the Jeep.

I know it's not for everyone, but I've been really happy with it.

I bought the Speedflate set up, he offers it in 2 or 4 wheel, up to 5 different colors. The tire end is check valved and simply clips in the valve stem, the digital gauge is sturdy and I've had no issues any of the times I've used it. and with them you're supporting small business.

I didn’t feel like typing it all out again so here is the link to a previous post about my inflate/deflate setup.

Take a minute and read the whole post. Most people don’t realize the physics working against them with these multi-hose systems.

Been running this system for over 3 years before all these other ones came out to market. One of the best Jeep mods. That along with Teraflex nomad wheels with air down valve makes air up/down super convenient. Crank the valves open to my preset presser (18psi), close valve and off I go. To air up, theirs one connection on each front seat, plug in your y adapter cables to two tires on each side and hit the power switch. Pretty simple to use. And has been reliable thus far.

With all due respect, I’d be willing to bet most people who drive Jeeps just don’t care about physics, and I’m saying that in the most respectful way I can. Jeep people are a different breed of people. Jeep people buy big lifts and huge tires on a vehicle that can already conquer the Rubicon trail stock. Jeep people spend thousands of dollars on a 200 dollar tent that goes on their roof, then spend hundreds of dollars on a 50 dollar rack to hold it up there. To sum it up, Jeep people just ain’t care. Respectfully.

I had one installed, and it's a super clean setup...but I couldn't get it to actually get it to distribute evenly :/

The "physics" for me is being down on my knees airing up one tire at a time is painful. It's much easier to plug in all four, grab a soda and talk to my buddies a for a few minutes, then go and uplug the cables. It's become an enjoyable break to chat with my friends after the ride while we air up.

I take it you didn't read the post I linked to. I use these systems on all 3 of my Jeeps. I like them for the same reason you've stated (and I say that in that post) as well as the fact that I like to see all 4 tires equalize pressure.

I wasn't and am not trying to say the inflate systems suck; I was simply saying that people tend to "think" that using these systems will cut their air up/down time to a quarter of what it would be doing one tire at a time. The physics doesn't support that. That's all.

It's almost like how many posts I see by new Gladiator owners that are shocked by their gas mileage. Just trying to raise awareness that these inflate/deflate rigs aren't faster, but there are other benefits to them.

You keep using your system and I'll keep using mine and we will all be happy.

I read your post and understood it. I was just pointing out the big advantage of the system may not be speed, but rather one of convenience. I'm getting older and lazier. I try to design my whole build based on convenience and ease of use. Have fun out on the trail!

Makes perfect sense. The only caveat would be is if the rate limiting factor was the tire valve stem. Then there would be some advantage to pushing air through more than one hose. Also it looks coolšŸ˜†

I’ve been using an ARB twin and speedflate 4 tire set up for 3 years.
Valve stems made a big difference. I have the Apex Designs RPV. Takes 8-10 min to go from 18 to 32 psi (Nitto 38 x 13.50r17)
Usually air up or down faster than anyone in our Jeep group, but I’m sure a power tank would be quicker.

SAME - I love my Speedflate system - ARB twin located behind rear seat w/ air hose & on-off switch mounted behind the Grimm Off road 4xe cowl conversion kit. Don't even have to lift the hood - and the tires (Up/Down) all regulate to the exact same psi.
