Hey all

Y'all know Uconnect and USB sometimes have issues.

Dealer replaced the Uconnect radio unit under warranty but says the USB ports, which are also malfunctioning, is not covered and ~ CAD$350.

I saw others on this forum get their USB units replaced under warranty, so I'm wondering if anyone here can please kindly shed light how they did that? Is this a dealer discretion kind of thing or a Jeep thing. @JeepCares perhaps you might also know?

This is us, 20,000miles and warranty until August 2025 from BC Canada.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Furthermore, since it appears that you're located outside of the US, we recommend reaching out to the Jeep Canada team by calling 1-800-465-2001, as they will be in the best position to further assist you with these concerns for your Jeep vehicle.

Update: FCA Canada says USB ports are treated as an "accessory" and is indeed not covered by warranty.
I would blow up( call repeatedly👍) there phones, emails or whatever you can do to make contact( repeatedly until you get the right person). If this item was not added as an accessory after the purchase of the vehicle it’s considered original equipment.

🙆🏼
Were these the USB connectors that came with the Jeep or aftermarket.
If it came out of the factory with it then why wouldnt they cover it.

100% from factory. The stock USB ports that we plug our cables into.

It is a bit crazy.

wow... so a factory part is an accessory now @JeepCares is this just a Canada thing or it is some petty thing to save money on a problem child issue?

If you are not familiar, @JeepCares never actually publicly comments on anything, they just tell people to DM them with their issues and pass that DM off to a @JeepDoesn'tCare customer service employee. Good money says the people who operate the @JeepDoesn'tCare social media accounts are not allowed to say or do much of anything, including verifying or making comments on what is and what is not covered by a warranty.

Don't get mad at the people operating the @JeepDoesn'tCare social media account, they're probably interns who would get fired if they ever even tried to put in enough effort required to earn the name @JeepCares.
