Hey All,

Apologies if this is a duplicate post but I did a search and didn't pull anything. (Oddly the sun visor popped a ton of results in the JL forum 🤷‍♂️)

I have my 21 Gladiator in (tail in of 3 year warranty but also have Mopar extended warranty) for the 3rd brake light partially not functioning and the passenger visor hanging from the vanity light power wire. The dealer said neither is covered by warranty. I called Jeep customer care and got the same answer.

I get these are trim and/or wear items but my truck only has 8,600 miles on it and for now isn't taken off-road. I mean I can't raise a huge fuss about the brake light, but I would also think 3yr/8,600 miles for "wear" item isn't great on Jeep's part. I am miffed at the sun visor, there are enough posts out there of these things failing (in exactly the same manner) that it excluding it as "trim" seems silly.

Given the low miles Jeep Support was going to escalate for internal review.

Curious if other have had similar issues and\or any luck getting this covered?

Both should be covered under the 3/36 warranty. The brake light, possibly under the Extended Warranty, depending on which one was purchased.

There are the metal tabs that are screwed in below the sun visor to handle that problem. That's been a known issue from the beginning, thanks to the JL folks.

There have been people on this Board who have had both items handled under warranty.

I believe the 3/36 Bumper to Bumper covers just about everything but consumables, AKA wear items.

Thanks!

Anyone know a way to escalate other than the 1800 number?

I'm happy to do some legwork but was told literally no one else to contact.

Say nothing and take into another dealer.

My visor was covered and we have two Jeeps so I bought the better version of the bracket to prevent it, but have not put on either in months , so thanks, getting them out to see what is involved. My dealer is great, no question on the visor, no question on I lost my key FOB, and then found it later, also they know I have the rear axle sensor in and at time agreed it was bizarre to pull the whole axle to swap the sensor, they will put it in under warranty whenever I want, but have not asked them if they will let me pot it first, but I think as long as I assume the cost if it doesn't work cause I wrecked it why not!.
I sort of like the take it to another dealer, it should be a TSB or recall, I hardly used mine....Jack 2021 Mojave extebded warranty 38,000 miles.....Jack

2 yrs 10 months, 22K miles NO Visor issues; and using a windshield sunscreen where the visors are pulled down to keep it in place. Don't know what all the have issues are doing?

It's the plastic retainer clips. If you are careful, they should be fine for a long time. The metal clips that screw on provide support to keep them intact.

FWIW this was literally the first time the passenger visor was used. The trim pieces around the windshield never aligned great, so I'm not sure if perhaps it was never fitted properly.

Both should be covered under your warranty but the visor is an easy fix with the clips from Amazon. Neither of mine broke but I put the clips on as a preventative and after 2 and a half years I've had no issues. It sucks that we have to take care of problems ourselves but they were worth the money. It would cost more in time just to take it in for repair

So you have a link to those visor tabs? I'd like to get them on before mine break.

I installed the clips, but the passenger one will not longer seat into the hole\slot flush. The clip holds it enough so it is hanging down, but it definitely isn't fitting right.

I got the driver's side installed and I think that one should be good.

Should be covered under warranty. Those are not “wear &tear” items. Stellantis is clearly a bottom feeder organization if they say they are.
