21 Gladiator Rubicon on Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 37s. Took my Jeep to the dealer a little over a month ago for a service. It included rotating the tires. Upon leaving the TPMS has not worked. Since then I have taken it back for them to figure out why the TPMS is not working. Today after having it for three days, they are telling me everything is working correctly and that the Jeep engineers' solution is for me to revert to factory tires.

Has anyone experienced this issue and found a solution? I know several Jeeps on 37s without TPMS issues.

What's your build date? That will partly matter as they could be a chance they changed the sensors for some silly reason. That being said you can take it to pretty much any tire place and they can check on them too.

Not sure of the build date as I bought it as is about 4 months ago. There were no issues with it till the tire rotation. Taking it in for a second opinion is on the list.

Build date can be found in numerous places but easiest in on the driver door jam. What I'm trying to imply is perhaps the dealer swapped out sensors and you have the wrong ones.

Do you have tire fill assist under Safety/Driving Setting in your settings?

What was the other work besides tire rotation?

First, it has nothing to do with tires. Air pressure is air pressure in every size of tire and the TPMS measures air pressure.

Take it to a major tire store and tell them the story. They can check it and even possibly reset them.

Could be the batteries died, but all of them at the same time is odd.

Oil change.
Reason I asked sometime the tech connects to update your firmware and might have accidently deactivated your TPMS.

If you have Jscan or another device you could hook up and look at your settings.

A simple tire rotation should not have shut down the tpms..

one more thing, is the TPMS warning displayed on the dash.

I would start with a tire shop and ask them to read each TPMS sensor. Ask for the battery level and operating frequency of each one.

There is no reset or adjustment for the TPMS system. It is all automatic. Provided the radio module and sensors are operating properly, and the correct sensors are installed, it should just work.

Jeep changed the TPMS system in June of 2021. There have been reports of the newer sensors not working with some wheels. It is an issue with the radio module, distance, and signal levels. In theory, this should not affect you, since it was working before the rotation.

It could be that the battery levels in the sensors are just low enough that the signal is too degraded to be useful.

It is possible that the radio module was accidentally damaged while it was being worked on.

It may just be coincidence that the radio module failed during the visit.

The tire sensors should all be the same age. Maybe they just need replaced.

You could try a system reboot to see if it has any impact. Disconnect both batteries for about ten minutes. Remove both cables from the negative post of the main battery, and don't let them touch anything in the engine bay. Open the door to verify there is no power inside. Be aware that the head unit can take up to 24 hours to fully recover from the power loss.

EDIT:
Some TPMS sensors are programmable so that they can be used with multiple systems. If you have this type, they may need reprogrammed or reset. The tire store can take care of that, if it is the issue.

7/21 is the build date. I do not see a tire fill assist in those settings.

I just played with my Jscan and it offers quite a few TPMS data monitoring fields.

Like the other person said it's all automatic.

I read the manual for the JT it said sometimes window tint can affect indication.

Seems odd a simple tire rotation did that.

Have you tried airing down to say like 25 psi go for a short drive see if the Radio hub sees the sensors.

Just a recommendation might want to pick up a Jscan dongle,it allows many adaptations, like TPMS troubleshooting, tire size change.
Allows you to restart your your ecu's a whole lot features you don't have to go to the dealer for.
Hope you get it sorted out.

If the TPMS was working when you took it in, I doubt it is the sensors. Do you have a Tazer or other programmer installed? They must be removed when at the dealership in case they run an update on your computer. If it’s installed/married and they do an update, you will lose the update whenever you do uninstall it. Not good. So, if you have a Tazer try reprogramming it. If not, the dealership must have done something…weird. What people are referring to regarding build date, is that Jeep changes the TPMS sensor model mid 2021. If you get new ones, check your build date so you order the correct sensors. I have a full second set of wheels and tires, and Inised the Schrader brand TPMS without any issues. They are quality and much more affordable. I think Rock Auto had the best price on them.

Yes. Took it to Les Schwab. No TPMS sensors were found on the scanner. Tech said the valve stems did not feel like there were sensors in the tires. He ordered new sensors. They arrive this week. We shall see if there are any sensors in the tires when we replace them.

Thanks, something doesn't add up. Can't wait to see what you find.
