I almost jumped off of a bridge trying to change my fob to the AJT model last night. Literally took me like an hour to get that thing to line up and it still probably isn't 100% set but once it remotely clamped down I started screwing it down. Every video I watched on YouTube that went right together got me a step closer to the edge.

AJT fob is a pisser. Once you get it, you dread the future battery change if ever that comes.

The Threedom fob cases are where it is at IMHO.

Well patience is a virtue that I don’t have. I don’t see that changing but I finally got the wheels and tires mounted at American Tire. They were very cool and allowed me to micromanage. Their torque wrench did go down to 30 pounds and I anticipated that and brought one to put the rash rings on the TeraFlex Nomad wheels. It is easier to put them on while the tire is flat on the ground versus mounted on the truck.

I bought 35 x 11.5. X 17 WildPeaks AT4’s to mount to the Nomads! I wanted a more narrow tire since I was increasing size to manage the rolling mass. Yes, I know it is still way heavier

As I posted in the section of Jeeps parked next to Jeeps, the only vehicles on the racks were two Mojaves. A nice silver one and mine. The 2 inch AEV spacer lift goes on next week!

Mostly got the passenger side done. It was a fight. I’m hoping I didn’t damage the axle seal. It was listing to passenger during the project due to driveway angle. So some gear lube came out during, but I slowed it with paper towel. I assumed it was the angle. I ran out of time so haven’t topped off the diff yet. I’m really hoping the little bit that came out after the shaft was back on was already in the tube past the seal. If not, I’ll need to pull them again and figure out how to replace the seal. Dammit. Oh well. I roughed in the new tie rod. Didn’t adjust it or clamp it yet. But it’s torqued on the knuckles.

Remind us again, who is the manufacturer of the new tie rod?

Steersmarts. They make a heavy duty version that’s solid aluminum, 1 3/4 OD, and rated for 2.5 tons.

I think I’ve finally got the steering stabilizer oriented the way I want. I need to do more articulation tests to verify clearance. It was tough to find a place for the reservoir. I also had a local fab shop shave 1/8” off one of the bushings for the axle side. It was too big to fit in the steersmarts bracket.

After work and some dinner prep, went back out to try to get things closer to drivable. Got the upper ball joint greased and tensioned. Greased definitely, tensioned, who knows? I hope so? Got the tie rod in and adjusted the toe. It's close but not perfect at 3.5/32 toed in. Worked on the steering stabilizer which is mostly just mocked up. No clearance problems in the driveway, but I'm not happy with it. I'm going to run it by steersmarts tomorrow since it's their track bar, drag link, and tie rod. Haven't adjusted the steering wheel, but I'm sure it will need to be. Also haven't topped off the diff fluid after losing a little with the passenger axle out.

If anyone is running steersmarts and a Fox ATS stabilizer, I’d love to hear from you on how yours is adjusted for clearances.

You said enormous and rod in the same sentence. Damn. I’m a child.

They’re big and beefy for sure. I’m not sure I’ll keep that angle yet. I keep changing it up. They’re really strong. And I HATE HATE HATE jam nuts. They always loosen up after wheeling.

It is. That thing is built like a tank too.
I think those two rubber "grips" holding the SG are very practical- allows for a quick release when needed. What brand are those?
