Heated O2 sensor failure. 2023 Max Tow 100% stock

Has anyone had issues with their O2 sensors failing? This truck is under 9,000 miles and the light came on, then started flashing.
dealer informed me to bring it in.
9 weeks later, still in the shop.

Its a dealer. They can't be bothered and their Techs can barely tell the difference between an oil filter or their coffee mug.

Mine are good. You probably just got a faulty one. Happens to almost every car eventually.

If its taking too damn long you can go get it and either DIY or go to another dealer. the sensor is like 60 bucks on Rockauto. You just need know which one (should be in the dealer diagnostic quote). Its new so it should come out easily

There was a thread awhile back of somebody having to have one bank upstream and downstream O2's replace with relatively low mileage IIRC.

Another somewhat common issue of the valve covers leaking and dripping on one of the O2 sensors is another known issue.

9 weeks waiting though is a bit much and I would be on their ass to get some type of status of what is actually going on. You are pretty much in Lemon Law territory if you want to pull that lever.

^^^This! If you're comfortable with very basic maintenance (oil changes, spark plugs) you can DIY. I've replaced O2 sensors on a few different vehicles, none were difficult.

I don't remember the mileage, but I did replace the engine that it came out of. It reminded me of working in the dealership back in the mid '90s, swapping engines under warranty. Back then, Chrysler policy was pretty much "If it needs an engine, put one in." It was cheaper than the legal fight over proving that the engine wasn't properly maintained. I remember replacing one engine that had about 51,000 miles on it. The oil filter was stamped "Factory Installed" and the oil was baked hard on all the interior surfaces.

Thats what happened to me, Bank 2 downstream O2. I cleaned everything up, replaced the O2 sensor and finished with re-routing the harness so it would not happen again

I guess that filter is down to 0 micron rating now.
Just helped my friends nephew with ‘03 WJ. Surprise, surprise guess what was under the valve and timing covers on that 4.7……

Yeah, we need more information OP there for nine months because they don’t know what’s wrong? They can’t get parts? They’re incompetent?

If they diagnosed it as an O2 sensor as set up above, I’d be tempted just to swap it out myself or take it to a local shop. I have them do it and send Chrysler the bill and I have no idea if that will actually work. But back in 1999 I did have Chrysler warranty on my Wrangler that an independent shop did the work on.
