Just bought a '22 Sport with the auto (I've been driving stick last 16 years) anywho I just got new 34x10.5s mounted and today was giving it some gas on an on ramp when I hit a pothole, my jeep seemingly lost throttle for a half second and spiked up to 6500-7000 rpm. It then downshift back and came in at around 2200 rpm.

If almost felt like somehow it got jarred into neutral then reengaged into gear. Has that ever happened to anyone else? Should I be concerned?

Pulling codes is really the only way to get a true idea. I would suspect you somehow triggered the traction control with that pothole. I had a similar situation when mine was brand new, went to pass a semi on a small 2 lane highway, so had to give er the beans. Soon as the left tires hit the center rumble strip it went into limp mode. The road was damp, and temps hovering around freezing. I had to pull over, stop, shut down, restart, then it went back to normal. That was 2 years ago. never had a similar situation since. But keep an eye on it and consider seeing if you can get a code reader.

I would not worry about it, unless it starts happening more. I have a local section of freeway that causes enough up and down movement, at faster speeds, that the stability control kicks in and disengages the cruise control.

So if you haven't programmed your new tire size in yet. Your gonna give it mini strokes until it auto learns and makes up new shift points (yes it does that) Programming keeps the speedo accurate and give the trans a better map to start off of. With traction control on, and you hitting the pothole under heavy throttle. That tire most likely spun. however due to the tire size change, the rpm at the wheel vs what the computer thought it was going to be was drastically different. This most likely told the computer it was in a worse grip loss situation than it was actually in, resulting in it disengaging the gear via its respective clutch pack and mimicking a false neutral and most likely using ABS to bring that wheel rpm down ASAP. Again the whole time, none of the math is coming back how it expects. So it holds that "neutral" till the parameters it wants see start to appear again, when it finally does, it reengages the gear and off you go. To us, a small hiccup, to the transmission, a mini stroke. It may have some stored codes for the event, like "rear wheel speed higher than expected" and so on.

Mine has been a little odd for at least 20,000 miles. But what mine does is shifts abruptly into 2nd and 4th just once in the morning . Then after that it doesn't do it anymore rest of the day. So what I started doing is manually shifting 1234 manually then into D when I take off in the morning and it won't have that problem. But it holds strong in every gear still runs 7th and 8th alot . It's just weird. I already recalibrated the speedo for correct tire size . Don't know what else to do besides let the transmission explode then get a new transmission 😂

So today it did this twice to a lesser extend and even pulled a check engine light "service electronic stability control" a few minutes later I even needed to go into park then back into drive

Is your new tire size programmed?

Oh shit mine does the same thing, I should start doing that as well.

Try driving with TC turned of for now and see if that helps
Night and day difference, I feel I can accelerate hard without any delays or hiccups. Haven't hit a hard bump yet but it feels like my tires arnt being restrained anymore.

UPDATE

I programmed to a 34.6 inch tire. Let's see how it goes for a week to determine if the tazr mini fixed it.

So it was running fine until a couple nights ago in the rain at highway speeds. Popped several error codes, slowed itself to 50 and eventually made me park. Not sure what happened.

I basically did a master reboot of the tazer and the two cycles. Then turned traction control off and have been driving fine the last few days with it off. I don't however like having to have it off, any idea what could be causing this? Tazer firmware is only one behind current also.

I have never had any of this happen. But mine is fully modded gears, tires, Tazer. If it did this I would have it in the dealer to look at it. My mods have probably killed my warranty.
