EBay - Generic OEM style Stubby Bumper - Thoughts?

I think I answered my own question. Seems like part number 68293984AB may be the version everyone else is talking about. I just needed to scroll down the page a bit further. It matches the ebay version pretty well.

Thats my guess. Seems to be the consensus from the folks that have already done it. Although I will probably wait until I get a chance to actually test fit I suppose. No rush.

Yes, the skid plates are different between the plastic and steel bumpers including the Mopar one. You WILL need a new one for the steel bumper.

It’s been a minute but I want to say it was around $225 for the white bumper and blue tow hooks. I completely disassembled the bumper and gave them everything in pieces, then sorted out new hardware for contrast when I put it back together. I plan to do the same with my steel rear bumper but not before tearing up the stock one in Moab next month

I was JUST reading an old thread from the early days of the Gladiator (on this forum) and they discussed that the plastic bumper came with a plastic air dam, not a steel skid plate. But, I have a 2020, with a plastic bumper, and it has the steel skid plate. So I think early on there was some confusion on exactly what was included in which package, etc.

But I also confirm, those of us with a plastic bumper may have a steel skid plate, that is NOT the steel skid plate that comes with a steel bumper.

Yeah, this seems to be the issue. I was also confused for a bit because I kept finding references to a factory plastic Rubicon skid, and I definitely have the steel one with the plastic bumper. Hopefully the next time someone comes across this thread they find this useful.

Yeah, that whole extra bit bolted the underside of the bumper is just not present on my steel skid. Have a big gap there, which is why I initially thought it might fit. But then I suppose the skid isn't really doing skid plate things at that point.

The stock plate will bolt up on the bottom bolts only, but it hits the bumper….and with only two bolts it probably wouldn’t hold up too long off road.

That's a good price. I also disassembled mine and took it to a powder coating shop and they gave me a quote of about $800 for black. I took my parts (bumper) back and used bed liner spray. It's coming on 2 years and it's been holding up well.

I've had mine almost 4 years now. I posted in this thread https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/mopar-steel-front-bumper-ebay.35220/post-587103 how I stripped it and applied bedliner to it when I got it. It still looks as good as the day I installed it.

Someone on page 1 was worried about using it to winch from. The winch plate is attached to the frame rails, so the bumper is taken out of the equation.

It looks like we have the same skid plate (plastic OEM bumper)? If so, you will need to do a little bit of trimming to the bumper to be able to use the skid plate. There's a post in the above linked thread about it.

Just incase you need more info. This link too. I will be buying one odd ebay, as I have looked at FB Marketplace for months and cant seem to find that killer deal on a stock takeoff bumper. Everyone basically seems satisfied as long as you do some prep work. I also have a tow bar set up, so I will have to cut some things.

Another option is the aluminum version sold under MP Concepts to save weight. I'm working on doing the install now. Also comes with the aluminum skid and winch plate I sold. Went with Grimm plate. I'm going to grab another bumper for the future as a back up black Friday deal from Extreme Terrain.
