After a search doesn't seem like there's many recent brake threads so figured I start my own.

My JTRD has just under 50k on it and I'm getting the caliper warning(squeaking) that my rear pads are low. Also there has been a notifiable decrease in braking performance. For reference, I've been running heavy 38's on 20's now for about 30k and tow a heavy 16ft enclosed trailer 3-4 times a year(1500 mile distance each trip). I do drive spiritedly and in the winter I wheel in beach dunes 2-3x's a week.

I'm looking to do a full service...flush, braided lines, pads and rotors. I'm not interested in drilled rotors and the Teraflex have too many mixed reviews for me to justify the price. I know the stock brakes are pretty decent but I tend to do better than OEM when I'm replacing something. Also my rotors are rusted shit(due to the frequent beach riding).

Looking for suggestions on fluid, lines, and rotors/pads. Seems like if I'm against drilled rotors, stocks the only way to go. My current ones are too trashed to consider machining. I am planning on bumping up to 40's here within the year(but hopefully find some lighter wheels with them).

Any suggestions are appreciated. Cheers

EBC pads and rotors. Motul 600 brake fluid. KLM stainless brake lines. Custom made to length and color. Fit like oem. Also when you do the fluid flush and bleed. Do it with the ABS energized.

I put up what I did for a price comparison. The kit I listed, which is a decent kit, is front and back complete for $345. OEM would be $475 for just the front and it's still just OEM.

That's what I used on my Power Wagon and Grand Cherokee. I'll use them on the JT when the ti.e comes. Already have the KLM lines sitting on my work bench.

I ordered these, but traded the truck before I got them installed. It was at 57k and brakes still in good condition. They are sitting in storage for now.

Not interested in those due to the drilled rotors and I betca those rotors would rust up so damn fast in my conditions.

I've always been a big fan of using factory OEM rotors.

Do you know if your JT came with the factory FNC brake rotors? If not, I'd go with them since they are supposed to be more corrosion-resistant than the regular rotors.

I think I paid about for a full kit like $500 give or take for parts only, there are supposed to be a step up performance-wise from the mopar set (Or so it is claimed...). Local offroad shop didn't charge labor as they were doing other work for me at the time. So if I'd had it in there just for the brakes; full service for them would have been like $650ish. Mopar are great but if you have rust issues yeah the Mopars will do that in my experience. Mostly aestetic though and maybe squawk. The ones I just put on (like maybe 1500 miles on) seem far quieter. Time will tell of course.

After tiring different brakes setups I installed Teraflex Delta brakes.
I will have to say It is one of the best mods I have done to date.

Im looking at the rotors and they have two thickness available for the front, 24mm and 28mm. I would think the thicker is better but its actually cheaper and no explanation on either. Not sure which to choose.

I'm gonna try their new red pads, see how they go.

Powerstop rotors are treated extremely well. I’ve not seen them rust ever. I’ve used z36 on many vehicles. They’ve never rusted.

There is different grades of cast iron in brake rotors. That's the reason for the difference in how they rust. The higher the iron content, the faster they rust. Using this for an example. I have RacingBrake rotors on my Nismo. These will rust up after washing the car. They are a big improvement over oem in stopping power. But they're $600 each.
