With the cam and rocker issues.

3K.

Oil's cheap, changes are easy .....

Know a woman who did the 10K, same kind of driving, same locality.

Cam gone, can't afford to fix it, she'll drive it till it dies.
A family member used to be blind to maintenance.... didn't have a clue and didn't care (even after trying to explain it). The mechanic they were using took advantage of them .... I mean... What mechanic would recommend you replace the entire engine??? On Two different vehicles??
And yes...they had it done and paid that guy to do it on both occasions🙄

I remember.... they asked us to look at something on the 'work van'. It was spewing oil everywhere and especially when they turned. Pop the hood... There's a piece of tin foil on top of the steering reservoir (no cap). Both the return and pressure steering lines were spraying like a sprinkler. There were sooo many pinholes in the lines. They just kept dropping oil in it every 2 days!!

Sometimes you just have to wash your hands of them and let them pay their stupid tax.

Have a SIL that is the same way, tried to help both her and her husband to show them some basics and just got lip service and they continued on doing what they do which is nothing. Been a few times they have called me boo hooing and wanting help after the fact and I just ignore them and go about my business. They do like to remind everybody how smart they are with their Liberal Arts degrees though at every family function.

It’s a shame……. Luckily, my family members (husband and wife couple) have since ’matured’ with maintenance. They have newer vehicles and get regular maintenance at the dealerships.

So, at least…that’s a start and a step in the smarter direction.

The depth of human ignorance, of the world around them is revealed, when someone asks you what the "710 Knob" does under the hood.

I have gone 5,000 - 6,000 miles on full synthetic on my last two Jeeps - a 2014 Patriot that I sold with 186,000 problem-free miles and then passed my 2017 JKU on to my mother with 88,000 miles. Both were still running like new and no motor issues. I don't know if it's overkill or just right, but it's worked for me and $100 two or three times a year is far cheaper than a blown motor.

Bought a 2024 JT. Used to have 2012 JKU with almost 250,000 miles on it. As with my JKU, I will probably stick with changing the oil and rotate five tires at 5,000 miles. With that being said, I used Valvoline High Mileage Full Synthetic oil on my JKU before I traded it in. What is the recommended oil for the Gladiator? Thanks for your assistance!

I try to do oil changes at the 5K mark with tire rotation. This last time I did it at 7K. Only because I had to take a trip from south of Pittsburgh to Denver and back. I put 3,200 for that trip.

Insert whatever brand current API spec 0W-20 oil that floats your boat and meets MS-6395 spec.

Everybody has their favorite sauce and many will argue the red cunt hairs of minutia of why one is better than the other.

I like the abiogenic oil. The Dino piss isn't any good.

The 2023 Manual recommends Mopar 0W20 Synthetic and four tire rotations. The 2020 Manual recommended Pennzoil 0W20 Synthetic.

The two oils are basically the same. At least as of a couple years ago, Pennzoil provided the MOPAR oil under contract.
