You all going more than 5 to 6 thousand miles between changes on these sensitive engines are wild. Too many issues for me to not do 5k oil change intervals….

Our local dealer is the same, but the oil life meter has been indicating a change around 5-6k anyway. We live a minimum of 17 miles to town which has nearly eliminated the possibility of short drives since the stop and go doesn't start until after doing that distance at 50mph+ ensuring all systems are up to temp. What reduces the oil life IMO is that we do at least 50 miles a week, on average, driving fire roads with sections of 12-15% grades that get everything hot. What I found interesting is that if you have the dealer we buy from do an oil change in the WAVE program, they put a reminder sticker on the Jeep - and the miles on it indicate 5,000 miles until next change, or 6 months. Interesting. (but hey they do make money on oil changes, even the "Free" ones)
We lived in an HOA community for a few years. The HOA fees kept going up while providing little to no value. I think it's rather absurd to spend what it costs to buy a home only to be bound by CCRs that were written by the developer two decades ago.My cousin lived in one. Her neighbor re-sodded his yard after a freeze and put the plastic garden bed barrier things between his yard and hers to prevent his "new" grass from spreading into her lot. He also reported her every week for still having "dead grass". HOA's can go straight to....
I find that I have to drive at least 15 miles to get things fully up to temperature - and then it takes several minutes of operation at those fully hot temps to actually remove the fuel and byproducts of combustion (including water). Our local dealer is the same, but the oil life meter has been indicating a change around 5-6k anyway. My is at 66% with 2289.3 on it .I never look at my oil monitor, but I decided to take a look at it after reading this thread. Monitor showed 90% life and my oil has just over 2000 miles on it. That can't be right.
The majority of my trips are less than 5 miles with a full cool down in between. I probably do 12-16 of these short trip cycles per week, with only 4-6 full operating temp cycles per week. Oh well, I guess I'll just continue with 5k oil changes.
