Hi, I have a Mojave and wondering if anyone had a spray-in liner ever seem like it affected the handling/acceleration of their truck.

I just got mine lined with Patriot Liner today and I could swear the ride home was different. Like a truck slightly bogged down with a load in bed. Felt 'heavy' in the back, steering seemed stiffer in a way. Truck 'tracked' on the highway seemingly different. None of it in a good way.

I googled what the weights of a liner are and they range from 40-60 pounds. I can't imaging 60# in the bed could throw it off. But wondering if the Mojave suspension isn't really meant for carrying the weight it's rated for. The liner doesn't appear to be applied excessively thick, either.

So, I could just be mistaken...

But makes me wonder how it will feel with the weight of canopy. Once I get one. And wondering if I'll need to look at a leveling kit that compliments the current suspension system.

Thanks for your input!!!

I can’t believe that little bit of weight would throw you off on all those different things , steering getting heavier should have not happened. Anyway I digress, my Mojave has bedliner, RSI cap, 85lb fridge with bracket, dual batteries in the front , 79 lbs. added to front with winch installed and perhaps 70 lbs of skid plates under truck, plus recovery gear that fills the under seat storage area totally seat.
I felt rear was too soft and felt” loose “, Chris “White Rabbit” here turned me onto MaxTow rear springs, added a 1 3/8” rear spacer to make up for the shorter springs , and added a rear differential shock , and I love the way the truck handles and I do tow a 4,000 camper with it no complaints. Chris did say that without the extra weight the ride was not as good …..Jack

It would be weird if it was just me being mentally off. I drove it about 45 minutes to get there. Then after a few hours, I drove it back home. It just felt different on the way home from how I remember it feeling before...

I'll see how tomorrow's drive to work goes.

You can always install some airbags in the rear springs

I put a Rubicon steel bumper and bed sliders on my Mojave and noticed 0 difference in ride, acceleration, or height. Maybe a tape measure would notice.

On your way to the shop, you were driving with the wind. On your way home, you were driving against the wind……😉

Chapol, let us know, everyone here is great and they are just having a good time, before you do airbags or leveling kits you need to go across a rough rail road crossing at 35 mph, it is a cool feeling.....Jack

It is one of those "overthinking things" I suspect. I think many of us, me included, look for things to be different or wrong. It's the Gladiator syndrome. There are so many stories about problems with the JT that we are all paying too much attention to the nuances of driving them, just waiting for that moment when one of those problems finally happens to us. But in your case, you could be like many of us and notice very subtle changes in our driver. Not sure I could feel the difference of adding 50-60 pounds to the bed but you might be one who can. Just go with it and have fun.

It will ride different because it will dampen vibrations and sounds. Make it feel a little more solid for lack of a better word.

Given how light the rear ends of our trucks us, I can see how you would feel a small difference in handling after adding the liner. Does your truck handle differently when you run a full tank of gas vs. empty? That'd be a ~120lbs difference.

I think your mind is playing tricks with you.
I agree as well.

I had the spray in liner done as a factory option.......all in all, maybe 5-7 pounds of weight added at best.

I have a Mojave as well......shit my rack set up didn't make a difference in anything
