That Jeep grille on a Ram 3500 being shared around the internet, isn't an accident.

Maybe maybe not - there's a lot of stuff shared on the internet that's AI generated and put out on an automotive blog and suddenly - wow, look what Stellantis is doing!
Would love to see the ORIGINAL source.

That and why would Jeep need a HD truck? How many dolts of people would buy that, there is a reason for Ram. Ram builds work trucks, Jeep is offering a life style truck. Sorry but Jeep does not need a vehicle in every segment, if that is the case when are they releasing a sports car?

It's true.

That's why they can't sell GMC's and Cadillacs, everyone just buys Chevy's.

Same with Lincoln, they just buy Fords.

No money to be made just slapping a different grille emblem on the same vehicle.

Different branches, corporations. Cadillac is selling plenty of cars and SUVs. Jeep people are "SUV" people, not major truck people. So that's an apples and oranges comparison. Ford buyers don't want or "need" the "luxury" of a Lincoln. If they did, they'd move to a Lincoln - it's under the Ford umbrella, bit don't tell a Lincoln owner he drives a Ford and don't tell a Cadillac owner they drive a Chevy, don't tell a Lexus owner they simply drive a Toyota.

To your point, all GMC really is just a group of upmarket trims for Chevy trucks and SUVS... with different grilles. GM's badge engineering is legendary for better or worse.

If Jeep were to slap a Wagoneer grille on a Ram Limited/Tungsten it wouldn't really cost them much of anything and be an additional draw to the Wagoneer nameplate while putting the F150 Platinum/King Ranch and Sierra Denali right in the crosshairs. TBF, the rendering above is pretty handsome.

Long shot but I could see Ram shifting the off-road trims to Jeep, too. It would make some sense- Ram is the truck brand, Jeep is the off road brand.

Pretty much this. Prior to 2009 before GM was forced to shed brands due to Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the main point of the light duty GMC dealership was so that non-Chevrolet GM branded dealerships had a method to sell a truck and not lose business to the Chevrolet dealership if they were not in the same owner group.

So while Grandma is being put in a Buick, Grandpa can be shown a GMC truck.

Yep. GM wasn't going to allow Buick to go away due to its popularity and prestige in China of all places. Now they import Buicks from China to the US. The biggest losses IMO were Pontiac, Saab and eventually Holden. I really miss Saab and hate what GM eventually did to it but damn... those quirky turbo hatchbacks were a blast.

Saab was the Tesla of its day. Not so much in the innovation department, but more the demographic it appealed to. "Are you an east coast architect? Do you unironically wear turtlenecks and tweed jackets? Do you own a pipe? Buy a Saab today!"

I had a 1992 9000S, manual trans that thing was a blast and built like a tank. It was before GM took it over and destroyed the DNA of it with badge engineering. Its to bad Tata wasn't around and in the financial shape to buy Saab at the time. I think they could have pumped the money in and allowed them to succeed. It would have been nice to see where Saab would have gone in the world today.

Jeep should probably migrate to a modernized version of the original Gladiator. Make the whole truck as wide as the current one is on the outside fenders. Square off the rear door instead of using the Wrangler cut one. The cab would be bigger than the competition and the bed would gain capacity. Probably lend itself to 2 door and 4 door models, short and long beds.

That would basically be a reskin and rebadge RAM and I doubt that would happen. Them doing a clean sheet redesign for something that is struggling now to sell 50K units is remote and probably closest to the number zero one could get.

I like
I received a marketing survey about the Gladiator today. It asked what engine I would choose based on performance and based on price. It asked if I would prefer for the next Gladiator to have integrated fenders or continue to have external fenders. It asked if I would prefer the next Gladiator be based on the Wrangler or the original Gladiator. There were a few other questions, but I am glad they are putting some thought into the next Gladiator.

I like the look on the third image from the top. As far as engine choices, it a pity that the I6 isn't mentioned. A 6.4 while badass is just stupid at 20K, when a HO Cummins is only 12k (I do understand the EPA crap, fines/costs). It would be interesting to know more about the HO 2.0. I think, 290-300HP with 390TQ would be enough. Not sure about longevity but there are thousands of turbo cars and now trucks that seem to be reliable. The GM Turbomax is mighty but gas mileage sucks.

I was driving back from WV yesterday and came up on an OG 900T cruising down I70. Not going to lie, it made me smile and a tad nostalgic for what was and could have been had The General not mucked up Saab so badly.
