Holy Hell!!! I am glad I made the move to just get rid of the entire system. I had the DPF replaced 2x under warranty before I finally decided that I didn’t want to have such an expensive part replaced on my dime. Like everyone else who has had the weight loss procedure, I wish I had done it sooner.
what special diet did you go with?

Like rusty said it can clear codes also. I like the Idash better you can customize colors, you set Alerts for temps and what not I have alerts set for Oil and coolant temps. you can monitor a lot more things by creating up to 8 pages I believe with up to 6 items each.
Which Idash has everyone gone with?

I got the only one they had at the time. Now, I see they have a few more. I don't what to tell you. Depends on what you want to do with it, and the price.

So which one did you get?

The catch can will really help the oil is the problem. Also, a fuel born catalyst can be beneficial. I’ve heard after I finish my redline fuel catalyst I want to try https://betterdiesel.com/shop/
Oil is the cause for the carbon to build up quickly. Carbon will still build up over time with the EGR intact. Delete the EGR, oil is no longer a problem.

I went to mrtuning.ca and got their stage 2, 50hp and trans tune. This is the tune resold by EOC that everyone recommends but EOC is difficult to deal with. I had to buy my exhaust through EOC as mrtuning didn’t have the have the complete exhaust option and almost canceled the order due to lack of communication. Where as mrtuning was great to deal with and extremely knowledgeable about all of my questions and quickly responded

ok awesome. Good to know, I hate dealing with lack of communication on orders or even just questions on products.

I don't want to delete the EGR for now and can't. I could swap ECUs by turn it off every 2 years then I would use ALOT more DEF so then I need to turn that off and deal with draining and filling ever 2 years for my emissions test. The other issue is do I want to be close to taking in NOx. Not really for now anyway. My solution is going to be to use a filtered catch can, low Noack oil, and best of all going with a Snow Performance water/meth injection 2 stage. Ill install on the ports provided on the AFe charge tubes. Ill use the windshield reservoir for now.

The water/meth will make everything much cleaner and over time to look like new. Also, the combustion chamber and turbine as well. Im going to do a small nozzle pre intercooler and larger post intercooler. I will make much less soot and Nox as well with les DEF. Also, will give a little boost in MPG due to the more complete combustion.

That is what I saying. The tune is important. I don't know who or how they are tuning the Gladiators, but on TDI and on Duramax you can tund the EGR to a low percentage of operation so low that when blocked off, the computer doesn't trip a cel. All components remain and the ECU still sees the EGR. I have my EGR on my Duramax and my TDIs. I have one TDI without an EGR but I am not familiar with how it was deleted, still no cel. You shouldn't see much difference in DEF usage with the EGR blocked. Nox levels are about the with or without an EGR. Maybe it is different on the 3.0, idk, but I doubt it.

As far as getting rid of the def all together, it's hard to do in some states that inspect. I have mine intact and is the only emission system that is troublesome.

In your reply you mentioned to delete the egr for the oil not to be a problem. The tuning side im stock and want to keep it that way for now until maybe GDE comes put with an updated tune with less post combustion fueling that causes more wear.

Yes. The EGR is left in place and block off plates are installed. The tune should reduce the percentage of operation so that the ECU does not pick up that it is blocked off, preventing a cel. Again, I'm not sure how they are tuning the 3.0, but I'm sure it can be done this way.
Catch can will help, if you leave the EGR system function. Soot will still build up, many miles later, you will still have soot build up issues.

I know that is why I wrote information on Water/Meth. This solves many issue including overheating.

I just did and oil change and fuel filter change at 60k. First three oil changes were done at the dealer (not sure what oil they actually used because of the confusion early on with 3rd Gen ecodiesels). But after that, I've used valvoline European 5w40 full synthetic. Hotshots EDT every fillup after the first three years. This is the first time I cleaned the MAP sensor and EGR tube. I installed a catch in hopes it'll help prevent this mess again.
