So I have a 2020 JT Sport with original cloth seats. We use it for travel and love it, but the seats are as hard and lumpy as can be. Is there an after market seat that is comfy? I have a Ford F150 for a work vehicle and the seats are great. Is anyone making something similar for the Gladdy?

I read somewhere in this forum someone got a Recaro seat (or were considering it). They're very expensive though

Seat covers will soften the seat. Check out the other threads at the bottom of this page for ideas. People also have installed Mojave seats.

yes! This was the thread that I was referring to. Yep, as I expected, the recaros were $7000 at the time and likely much much more now. Though I wonder in 2024+ models with the added side curtain airbags, do they still have the seat-mounted airbags? The seat airbags are what make a legal seat replacement for the gladiator prohibitively costly.

OP, a seat cushion rather than replacement would probably help a lot for you, since your issue is with how hard the seats feel.

In my case, my problem is with the shape of the seat. Massively uncomfortable. I got DDI seat Jackers, and while they improved my leg positioning, they didn’t solve the problem of the seat shape. And I have a Mojave.

PRP also makes seat replacements with massive side bolsters. Not sure how much they cost or how practical they are for long drives. Getting out of the truck might be more of a chore though.

I love my Overland seats, but you might think they’re too firm. They’re on the firm side, but my back is wrecked and too soft of seats are hell on my back. I can, and have driven my Jeep cross country and the seats have never let me down. My GMC seats are great, much softer, but on longer trips, I have to stop and stretch my back. They’re more couch like, which it sounds like you’re looking for.

I just picked up some cheap universal seat cushions and it made a big differance. I only use the back piece.
Maybe try that before spending big money on new seats.

My overland seats are much more comfortable than sport seats. When my wife had her sport, my back would ache after 30-40 minutes. With my overland seats i can go 2-3 hours before needing to stretch. Then again, the seats in my 2018 Silverado would allow me to go coast to coast without discomfort. I’d start small, use a cushion or a padded seat cover and see how far you can go before spending hundreds on new seats.

I used to laugh at these posts, but after 80,000+km in my Gladiator, I have to agree. I find the side bolsters to be the cause of my discomfort, as I like to spread my legs out (insert joke here) when driving.

I know Corbeau used to make some decent seats back in the day....I wouldn't want to give up the heated seat function though.

Edit: Just looking now and it seems you can add a heated seat option.

To each their own. Comfort is so subjective. I test drove an F150 and after 10 minutes in those (soft as a 10 year old lazy boy seats) my back was wrecked .

I hope you find a resolution that works. I'd start with trying out Mojave seats and see if those are more comfortable. If so you could try Co part and see if you can score some salvage seats.

Here's some Mojave seats . $900

Unlike my other vehicles that has V shape side bolsters. The Gladiator has a narrow U shaped side bolsters which is meant more for womens. It's very uncomfortable underneath the thighs on long drives.

Not sure if this link works! I sat on this from Dallas to Denver in my wife’s Ruby. Only stopping for 10 minutes every 2 hours. Won’t leave home with out it.

Sheepskin seat covers is a good option if comfort and padding is an issue. Another seat cover option is a material called neosupreme and you can slide some extra padding underneath the seat covers and the seat covers will hold it in place. It won't be as comfy out of the box as sheepskins covers are. I have have used both types and both have their prod and cons.

I replaced my 2024 sport seats with a set of leather seats from a 2023. All I had to do was change the seat harness over, leaving the 2023 air bags disconnected. I then put a set of neoprene covers on them and found them to be much more comfortable.
