As the title states, I filled up the tank, started the truck and took off and then immediately it died and threw itself into autopark. It slammed my body forward. At first I had no idea what had happened, almost felt like a small collision or something. The shifter was blinking in D. I put it in park, started it again, and was able to drive away as if nothing happened. The door was not ajar or anything. I am not happy about that. WTF?

You could scan for codes. It could be you just didn't close the door all of the way. Have you had the doors off lately? Could be a bent pin. I sure hope you found that rodent that chewed up your firewall.

Well of course it’s not a jar, it’s a door…

…I’ll see myself out.

The door was closed. I never opened it after this happened, I simply put it in park and restarted it. I have never removed them.

What's weird is that the truck shut off. So far as I know, the autopark feature does not include killing the engine. And that rodent? It's the squirrels, population infinite around here.

door plug might be a tad loose or its a security module glitch. occaisonaly my truck will get stuck and loop on the start sequence but won't fire the engine.

Something like happened to me but just in my driveway. I think closing the door again resolved it.

That's right! High quantity switches made in the PRC never go bad. 😄 But the engine shutting off doesn't fit the scene. I'd still scan for codes.

That wouldn't matter - you can open and close it 100 times,, and every time you drive it.
It only cares if the door isn't fully close and you try to drive it.

I can see Stellantis getting sued for the Jeep not being able to drive away during a carjacking. Stellantis to the rescue of the carjacker. Hell with the person trying to save their life by getting away.

People do dumb things and drive with adoor open or ajar. Give them a warning, but disable the car?

I watched a vid with demo today because it has happened to me. Apparently if your seatbelt is buckled the Jeep cares not if the door is open. But if your belt is not on…

It actually happened to others - injuries, etc. but that one made headlines for obvious reasons........

I would love to disable Autopark.
We are talking about a vehicle that will let us drive it with the doors and roof completely removed, A chime/warning light is enough for me.
