I'm trying to summarize this thread, tell me where I went wrong:

1.) 392 is not actually confirmed.
2.) 5.7 is mentioned, but not actually confirmed.
3.) Zero indication of an actual release date for anything.
4.) Leaf springs suck.
5.) No indication of price for anything either.
6.) Development and testing would still need to be done if anything comes to fruition.
7.) Hurricane is bad?
Hurricane is not bad....its just sounds like shit

Jeep CEO Promises to ‘Right Some of the Wrongs of Our Past’ https://share.google/YElGikONqUGSS7REv
From that article:

" Whether Jeep plans to wring out more juice from the Pentastar or add a Hemi is unclear, based on Broderdorf’s comments. "

CEOs are notoriously vague when making these statements for a reason. Too much can (and will) change in the background.

Get back from vacation and see this wonderful news.

I'll take a 392 Mojave for under 80k please. Preferably 70k otherwise i'm going the AMW route

I got 12mpg on E85 in mine with a smaller pulley, port blower and other power mods, just depends on how hard you press the skinny pedal. My point is you can get more truck and more horsepower for less money. Plain and simple. The AMW4x4/ DRC deal isn't a good value at its current price point and that is something Jeep will also have to consider with their Hemi pricing since Ram is starting production of the TRX again. The Wrangler 392 is special, the Wrangler itself is a niche vehicle, iconic, cult following, etc. While yes the Gladiator is also a niche vehicle, its not as iconic nor does it have the same cult following. I do prefer my Gladiator over my TRX but if we are talking adding a V8, the value will have to be there otherwise there are better deals out there.

12mpg on E85? Did you get it over 2500rpm?
I kid I kid
To be fair, I drove my TRX like a jack ass. 33 gallons of gas and not even getting 200 miles to a tank and it was bone stock LOL.

I've toyed with going the Hellcat swap route with my Mojave, but I would never pass a gas station.

I always say the Gladiator needs about 100 more hp and it would be perfect. A 400ish hp 5.7 would be golden. If the 392 option is available for a little more, my dumbass will spring for it.

Loving the news. And great looking trucks by the way.

I can agree, the 4xe we have is perfect(other than the lack of rumble) even on 39s and stock 3.73s thanks to 375 hp and 470 ft lbs. I drove a 392 extensively, yes it was faster, but I also didnt really feel like I was getting much other than an exhaust note compared to the 4xe.

These V8 threads confirm one thing for certain to me and that is there are half a dozen members here that should probably trade their gladiators in for suburu outbacks.

The original straight 6 hurricane was used in the 60's model J200 Gladiators .
Its a carry over name . It was about 260ci if I remember correctly . The hurricane of today is a totally different animal. Oh wait it does have 6 cylinders.
Don't forget the 4 cylinder hurricane.

CEOs don't make the budgets, do the engineering, pass the tests and so on. They can say all they want, and typically do, in press events like that. It's a vision, maybe a high level plan at best. That's all.

I would have likely gone 4xe if there had been one available. Love our JLU 4xe. It's got guts from 0 on up. Sort of akin to a diesel in a way. It won't kick your ass in the 1/4 mile, but take a look at the video of the guy taking his on the track and actually doing very well against V8s in the first 1/8th or so.

My predictions:

2026 - The end of the Pentastarch 3.6 in the Jeep JL/JT line. Engine line up will be:

Base 2.0 / 4xe
Base 5.7
Upcharge 6.4

Starting prices will be at under 60K for the 5.7 with a 8K upcharge for the 392. Options and YMMV.

Mark this post for future reference lol.

I was unaware of that iteration
It dates back to the Willys Jeeps.
There is the GME 4T like in our JLU - it's also called a hurricane engine.
