Still have the old Ram with solid front axle, 318 5-speed. Similar dimensions but wider cabin and better ground clearance. That and the new JT are both fun.

I had a 2500 Dirtymax, traded it in on a 1500. Had the 1500 for a year and only put 3k miles on it. I decided I wanted something fun so I traded it on a Gladiator. I don't want a full size truck anymore. The Gladiator is fun. I love taking it off road. I didn't do much of that at all before I bought it. It moves around parking lots and into parking spaces with ease. It fits in the garage easier. It's fun. It ends up being what my wife and I use when we go anywhere over here SQ5. Did I mention it's fun? Because it really is fun.

I tow a racecar on an open trailer occasionally. It does fine. But if I was towing long distances often, I would likely want something different for that task. But who knows. Maybe the fun would win over that challenge as well.

Before I bought the Gladiator, I was going back and forth between the gladiator and a ram truck. I am building an overlanding rig and may tow a small camper. The Gladiator won out as I felt I didn't need a full size truck to do what I want to do. I did get a sport s with max tow so the payload and tow numbers were higher than the other gladiator models. Plus there is so much more you can do with a gladiator. So much aftermarket support. If you are towing more than say a small camper or boat then a full size truck is the way to go or at least get a sport s with max tow. Its rated at aprox 1700lb payload and 7700 lbs towing (not sure exact numbers).

but I am in the early stages of a new business and don’t want to spend the extra money right now to get another F—150.
sounds like you might want to reach out to your accountant about tax write offs on a company vehicle before making this decision...

full disclosure I'm not an accountant, nor a business owner

Ultimately it's going to be up to how you see things. A lot of people in this thread say that the JT is no good as a commuter, but I think it's fine as a commuter since I don't want all the same things they apparently want.
So figure out how much you need to tow and how often, and how much storage space you need, and see which options best fit your needs, or what you're willing to trade off for "wants".

In some ways, I think of the Jeep Gladiator as being a jack of all trades and master of none. In my opinion, that's why the Gladiator is one of the most versatile vehicles out there. There are very few vehicles that can do everything, just not do any one specific thing exceptionally well.

*It's a good commuter, just not a great commuter.
*It's a good tow rig, just not a great tow rig.
*It's a good trail rig, but not a great trail rig.
*It's got good payload but doesn't have a great payload capacity.
*It's got good power, but doesn't have great power
*It's comfortable but lacks great comfort.

I see the Gladiator as being a well-rounded package that meets a wide range of needs. It was an easy decision for me because I expect a lot from my vehicles. The Gladiator is more versatile than my Ram 1500s, but the Ram 1500s just do certain things better.

For some people, the Gladiator might meet 100% of their needs. For me, the Gladiator meets 75% of my needs. The Ram 1500 meet the other 25%.

I had 5 f150s in a row. All loaded. I traded the last one on a Gladiator Overland and traded that in on a Gladiator Mojave X. Obviously, I’m happy with the Gladiator.

i don’t use my truck for business. It’s my daily driver. I used to tow an Airstream 28’ trailer with the F150, which the Gladiator can’t.

I do tow an enclosed cargo trailer with 4 motorcycles in the Gladiator just fine. And I’ve hauled one dirt bike in the bed, with the tailgate down, too.

The F150 is a quieter vehicle. The Gladiator fits into smaller spaces. The Mojave rides better than the Overland.

For my needs, I prefer the Gladiator. I particularly like the Mojave.

How big is your bass boat? How much does it weigh?

We tow a 17.5’ tracker, but it’s only 3,500lbs - Gladdy tows it just fine. Some bass boats can be HEAVY. If you have a bass boat on a double axle trailer, chances are….. you should probably keep the F150 or stick with a fullsize.

I bought my JT to be a commuter truck for work but it QUICKLY evolved into a full on camping rig. I love this truck. To me it is very comfortable, enough for coat to coast driving and an Arctic Circle trip as soon as I retire. As far as towing, I didn't even order it with a receiver hitch. I have a few 2nd gen Cummins trucks for towing. Space is a little tight just have to be creative. If it will handle your boat (not sure of size/weight) I think you will fall in love with a Gladiator.

My Gladiator pulls my old Pop up camper . And an occasional small lawn mower trailer thats it. I dont want to pull big stuff with mine.
As far as creative space creation its in the form of a 5ft bed for me if it doesn't fit inside it goes in the bed.

I do miss the quietness of the cabin and the interior room of the Silverado, but the JT suits my needs. Can tow the boat, camper, hauls landscaping materials and furniture. And there is nothing more satisfying than seeing the coworkers faces when showing up to a site with the entire top off with a bed full of all my saws and equipment 😆

All these people talking about cabin noise... my first mod was speakers, so I haven't noticed any cabin noise!

Just Run a set of Chinesium Extreme Mud Terrain tires till they are past the wear bars. Then switch to AT's and you will think it is as quiet as a Bentley or Mercedes. 😂😂 ask me how I know 😂😂😂

Had a 2015 Ram Rebel on 35's, air suspension and a 2017 Ram Bighorn with 2" lift on 35's and 12Klb winch which I traded in on my 2021 Gladiator. Have never looked back. Don't miss the extra cab space or larger bed at all for my uses. Yeah, they towed my boat better then the Gladiator, but its only a few times a year and I can live with that.
