Hello, I'm new to the forums and to the gladiator platform but knew what a wanted before I bought my jeep. I have a 2025 Sport S in anvil. I bought the tires at walmart while the price was good $194 each. Not to much info on them so figured as I go can make comments and take measurements. Lift not installed yet and still on sport fenders. I've run the trail hog on a ram 1500 and they did good so lets see how they ride and how the tire balances.

Unmounted
C rated tires
68.4lb
36.5" tall
11.5" wide
.54 or 13.3mm, 17/32 ish tread depth
Sipes are .40” or 10.2mm

That weight is shockingly good for a 37" tire. The Rubicon X 315/70R17 BFG KO2 weighs 62lbs according to Discount Tire's website, and is 34.4" tall (unmounted, which is how tire diameter should be measured)

That weight is for a C rated.

They also have an E rated @74.1 lbs, which is decent for a E rated.

Can you tell if it has full-depth sipes? The Kanati Trail Hog does great until around 50% tread depth, at which point its sipes are gone and the tire's performance degrades precipitously.

The center lug sipe depth is .40” or 10.2mm deep. So looks like 3/4 of the tread in the center but tapers towards the outer edges.

Correct. I was comparing C rated to C rated. I only want C rated tires on my lightweight Jeeps. We run 30psi on the street daily with our C rated tires, and drop to 20psi offroad.

I might have to scoop one of these up for a spare. Great price point.

How did they end up balancing for you? I bought 5 of the C rated Overland RTX 37x12.50R17s on sale from walmart back in March and ran them for about a month. My experience was with 2 small local tire shops and Discount Tire but no one could get them to balance on my Fuel 17x9 wheels. I ended up going through Greenball for a refund. It took about 3 months but they stood behind them

Just had them mounted and balanced today at discount tire. They said they balanced out. There is a little bit of vibration at like 50 to 60 but it goes away below and above, the tread‘s pretty aggressive, not super loud, but I haven’t experienced any out of balance issues yet. This did set the pressure to 38 psi I lowered to 33 so we’ll see how that works.

Great looking truck! Really like that anvil color and the wheel offset and look of the tires is perfect imo.

Looks good, yeah, I'd say 38psi is too much and would give a rougher ride, you should be good at 33psi.
I didn't see it mentioned, but what lift did you go with?

Thanks I did months worth of research and I knew exactly what I wanted. The 3.5 is prettty tall, the seat edge is 43" from the floor.

I lowered to 33 and it rides alot better and the wear looks close to covering the hole tread. I'll do the chulk test and see. For the lift I have the clayton 3.5 ride right with added bumpstop extensions. In the spring I'll install the overland+ rear and front lower control arms.

FYI, I used Kanati Trail Hog tires on my 3/4 ton truck for years. I ran three sets of them, and they did not disappoint. I currently run 37" KM3s on my AEV, and they are great. But I will likely switch to Kanati tires once these Goodrich tires wear down a bit more.

So a little update on the tires. Discount tire was a disaster for ballancing the tires. They had something like 25oz of lead on either side of the wheels. My shop that just re geared reballanced them and used half the weight. One of the tires is out of round but only can tell around 35-45 mph. I'm running them at 30PSI and seems to be good for me. The 5.13 gears are so nice after driving on 3.73 for a few weeks, jumped up from 13mpg to 18mpg on the highway at 70mph and easily get back to 8th gear.

Did you take the gearing difference into consideration when calculating your fuel economy numbers?
