Everything about the 2023 looks great and the dealer has been very easy to work with so far. We've got a call scheduled for this afternoon to go over final numbers and lock it in. With the dealer in Arizona, the problems started when I moved from the sales manager to the finance manager. These guys do not seem to have a problem securing it with a deposit then paying via cashier's check. Won't know for certain though until talking later today.

When filling up between half and a quarter tank, that’s my plan, I’m thinking it would be best to back off the recommended ratio a little to account for additive still in the tank. Do you ever run a tank without additive to help keep the mix closer?
Every once in awhile I won't put any EDT in for a tank. Just because. No real reason. But no issues 60k miles

Still looking good with the 2023 JTRD. I talked to the finance manager today and they prefer wire transfer over cashier's check but are willing to take either. I don’t mind wiring payment but I won’t do it until I’ve seen and driven the vehicle. They are fine with that and are holding it without deposit until Saturday. If it takes longer, I'll put $1,000 refundable deposit down to hold it for a month.

I didn’t want to set anything up with the bank until talking over payment with the finance guy and by the time we got off the phone, the bank was closed. I'll be there when they open in the morning and hopefully we can get it done quickly enough that I can get a flight out early Friday morning. If so, and I'm happy with the Jeep, we'll do the paperwork Friday afternoon. If not, it will be March 6 before I have a free weekend and can go out there.

Took care of everything at the bank this morning but so far today I haven't been able to talk to either of the people I've been dealing with at the dealership and no one else seems to know what's going on. Hopefully they are just busy and will call back soon but after almost three hours of calls and texts, it's getting a little frustrating

Things didn't happen yesterday like I'd hoped but it ended up OK. After not hearing from anyone and leaving several voicemail and texts, the general manager called about 7pm. Come to find out yesterday was the day off for both of the people I've been dealing with. The GM was very helpful but at that point it was too late to fly out this morning. I now have a flight to Delaware tomorrow morning at 6am and if there are no delays I should be there aroud 2pm tomorrow.

I'm taking copies of the window sticker and build sheet for verification but looking at the pictures, I believe everything is there. I'll drive it then do my inspection. My OBDLink is going so I'll try to check for codes. Other than making sure everything works and looking for fluid leaks, is there anything diesel specific I need to look for?

Other than clouds not much to see. Pilot just came on and says we are starting decent into Charlotte. Haven’t seen much of the ground at all but the clouds are sure pretty

It was and is all I hoped for. Now the only problem is I’m almost 1500 miles from home and they are talking about the kind of storm we never see in Oklahoma. If it hits before I get far enough away to miss it, I’m definitely going to take a nap!

Here’s the obligatory new to me Jeep picture!

Depends on what time you head back home. You might catch the western edge of the storm.

Looks great, congrats on finding your Jeep. Now get rolling so you have a better chance of missing the storm. Also, as I said before check the DEF level to ensure they filled it up before you leave.
