I can trade my 2024 police bike on a new bike this year, or have Rubitrux install a hemi in the JT, or stay married.

Decisions.

LA roads are ROUGH.
I chalk it up to the whole damn place sinking into the swamp.

In the lower flood plain areas (~30 to 40 feet above sea level) they all suck it seems like. When you get into the 'hill' areas near my other house (~140 feet above sea level) the roads seem to be better as they aren't paved atop mud.

Did they say 100?

I told y'all... "You gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers in this racket!"

I think they forgot a Zero.
Make it 1,000 pages.

Things change, but sharing the Dakota platform has been confirmed.
Words matter.

What's been confirmed is building the Dakota in Toledo.

I've been on assembly lines with completely different brands rolling down them, different chassis is no big deal.

I was on the Ram Truck webpage so I could compare trucks with the 5.7 versus the 6.4.
Not that I plan on a Ram truck, but just to get an idea of what to expect if I put a 5.7 in a JT, versus the existing Wrangler 392’s.

What got my attention before I could even find a Ram truck with a 6.4, is the price of the 5.7. I found that it is optional in the Limited.

The standard offering is the I6 Hurricane, for zero dollars.
The 5.7 Hemi is also offered, for zero dollars.

I do not know if extrapolating anything from the RAM truck website would correlate much to what if anything to the JT if a V8 was offered.

To get a 6.4 in a RAM, you have to get into the 2500/3500 series trucks. Also, the RAM 1500's with a 5.7 have the ETorque system and that system would not be desirable in a 5.7 JT offering.

I’ve never shopped Ram trucks so I figured I’d give it a shot, but was quickly seeing that an apples to apples comparison would be pretty difficult.

I’m just always surprised at how crazy expensive 3.92’s are and the 5.7 alternatives are not a heck of a lot cheaper when I look at Rubitrux offerings for engine swaps.

I’ve never driven anything with a 5.7 or 6.4. I just remember how underwhelmed I was when I test drove a new Chevy 1500 a few years ago with the 5.3 V8 compared to the Ford F150 with a 5.0 I was driving at the time.

I’m just looking for points of reference in comparing the 5.7 to the 6.4.

What’s a direct comparison is when you spec a Warlock and see both engines offered and note the price difference…

5.7l is very comparable to the 5.0l in power, but there are a few factors here. The aluminum f-150 is several hundred lbs lighter and GM is big on torque management and it kills the low end power. When I had my 5.3l tuned, just having most of the torque management removed made huge difference in power.

I wonder what the sales losses are due to all the talk of a V8 every year and those that put off buying each year waiting. They should have just upgraded the 3.6 internals and valvetrain to add a turbo or supercharger option with a small amount of boost to bring it into the 350-400 HP range with a good flat torque curve.
