That’s the S-22 heading into Anza Borrego from Christmas Circle.
I thought it was down there somewhere. I’m an hour and a half drive from there but never made it down this season. Anza borrego and ocotillo are our favorite desert places. Desert camping season is just about over until the fall, but day runs are still good if I can find the time to get out.

It’s close to over, but I just beat the heat by staying moving until 4:30-5:30 or so then set up camp. I got out pretty late Sunday. Maybe 1:30 at the TruckHaven obstacle course.

Side note: There was absolutely NOBODY out there. To the point I left my 4 tire pressure gauge on the bumper when I took off. It’s new I’m still learning. I went back a full 24 hours later and there was my pressure gauge on the first obstacle of the course just sitting there. Hadn’t been touched. Luckily it didn’t look like I ran over it. :whew:

March 30, 2023, from FB memories.
I really need to get back to this community.

These other people ... well ... there's just something not right about them.
It's like the bride and groom invited the same cousins, you know? 🤔 🤦‍♂️

April forecast is showing some decent weather but out there even 80 in the sun can be pretty sweaty.
Night time looks pretty good. I would even go for getting out there after dinner for a night run, then camp and leave in the morning. Last year I put together a simple quick set-up and breakdown for overlanding that works pretty good for that. I haven't been out since Thanksgiving so I may just talk the wife into an overnighter if I can swing it.

Hit my Christine moment this morning. It may not be red, or a '57, but it's a Chrysler product. Watch out sh!tters.

Went to the mountains to eat a sandwich and a bone. Why? Because we can. Hit a couple roads that caused a little shimmy for a few seconds in the steering wheel. Not death wobble level, but I need to see what's up. Great day minus the shimmy.

Truck stuff again. Hauled material to turn my old pontoon into a dock/swim platform. Probably adding a pool slide if we come across a cheaper.
