The only way I would do a Hemi is with no MDS or VVT. I want a simple and reliable V8.
That’s the way AMW does it…

That is also the way the crate engines come.

Not often talked about, but those those that do the 5.7L HEMI salvage pull conversions either have to incorporate the MDS or do the extra work to convert it to no MDS and makes it less economical than a crate engine without it to begin with.

The 5.7 hemi in 2008 and earlier 2500's are not MDS. The 1500's were.

True, but most today are wanting the 2009+ "Eagle" generation 5.7L HEMI's that brought VVT and more horsepower.

.......and they have better flowing heads too. Less chance of the valve seat from dropping out. Changed the valve spring design to help with the hemi tick. The early Eagle hemi's had issues with the MDS. They have kits now to eliminate the MDS.

My understanding is that 2015+ is the more sorted ones that are preferable.

I quit following it after they put the 6.4 in the Power Wagon.

While everyone is waiting for directions how to order our new double throw down Gladiator V8s here is another V8 Gladiator install it is great to see the actual cost breakdown. The only things that caught my attention the exhaust modification guy costing more than the tech per hour maybe he was one of those TV show exhaust wizards who fly's in just for the project. The vehicle owner seemed surprised the local dealer did not want to do warranty work for the third party conversion company i imagine troubleshooting someone else's work could open a can of worms even if they agree ahead of time to pay.

Got it. I just thought now it was referred to as a 3.0.

But back in the day, I had a 327 Chevy and 360 AMC Jeep engine. So I guess we get sentimental at times.

I assumed it was to how many pieces the fuel pump blew in to
